I was skeptical at first but I have not stopped playing since I bought the game in Sept. I have only last week started building and posting on the galley. The game is different to the previous Sim games and I am really enjoying it. I also really enjoying the building side of the game. My origin ID is Issabella14, if you want to see my builds. I am still an apprentice at it so be gentle with the remarks. :)

The game is alright but it's very clear to me that it needs a lot of work. 2 major problems of mine would have to be the fact that aspirations and career goals feel too grindy with meager rewards, annoying CAS/aging up bugs is another issue.

There are some kinks to work out still, and certainly more elements to add. But for a base game, I think this one might just be the most fun one yet.
It has challenges, but it's not too difficult.
I'm a big fan of the starting stages of a legacy challenge; building up a new house from nothing.
This game has been most satisfying to me so far. I am happy!

It's alright considering its a base game but, as others have said, it still needs a fair bit of work. I still play Sims 3 much more but I suspect that won't change until TS4 has some interesting expansions to its name. It'll be interesting to see how the handle the undoubtedly inevitable seasons and pets themed expansions, especially if they plan on adding horses again.

It's amazing, I love everything about it.

Haha seriously though, I don't think you are going to hear any reasonable person say that. (sadly.) But my honest opinion of the base game is that it is just fair. By far, I love the loading speeds. I have probably over 2,000 cc packages already and no problems yet. I really like the emotions - However I don't like the crazy faces. I don't like that my sims eyebrows are always raised halfway up her forehead and she's got this big, goofy smile on her face all the time. The demon faced children of the Sims 3 is still better than the I just ate special brownies for the first time face that the sims 4 sims make all the time. I also don't like the quivering lip faces they make when they are sad, I had to see that far too much on my gloomy sim. I do not HATE these features and in ways some of the faces are cute, but just not when they are so... constant. I like that they can play violin now.. that's neat. and that there are a lot more options with painting as far as real styles go. I do miss that you can paint portraits very much because my sim families always had painters and they would paint pictures of every sim and then have a 'grand hallway' lined with pictures of their ancestor sims.. I miss being able to lock doors too. I like the way build mode is. I have no problems with that. I like the way CaS is. It's just the little things that irk me.

That being said, I think the Sims 4 will be really good game as expansions start to come out, assuming the expansions meet expectations.

While there are some bugs that probably can use some fixing and there isn't much in the game yet as there isn't any expansions yet, but as a base game overall, I been enjoying it. Looking forward to pools and new careers and see what other surprises we will get later on. I think it as a lot of potential (maybe not exactly like Sims 2, but better than Sims 3),

It's kind of barebones compared to past games even on the base game level but I've seen a few nice touches that I remember asking for in TS3 and some I hadn't even thought of.

One of the things I asked for was an option to put away all books on the lot similar to how you'd put away all kid's toys or throw all laundry in hampers. Another was a chocolate cake (and of course we got more than just that), and I'm delighted that there's now a "clutter" category rather than just one giant sculpture pit. Oh and we can search for objects now, that's huge in my books!

I just got the game a couple of weeks ago and to my surprise I do like the game. I was skeptical because of all the negative comments, load screens and no toddlers. I would still love to have toddlers in the game and I don't like that there needs seem to depreciate faster than I would like because I would like to explore the towns but their either too tired, hungry. I also would love for the other sites like bars and such to offer food like before so that they can at least eat while their out. I love the feel and look of the game.

It's possible although there was a much bigger outcry for Pools and Toddlers right at the start, so you might have some competition there (although there's no doubt LGR will comment on the diving boards xD)

Personally I don't mind the change in aspirations since I could never finish a life goal in previous Sims games (well, more like, didn't want to finish). I was actually pretty surprised when one of my child sims actually completed her aspiration, because it had never happened to me before!

What annoys me very much, though, is that you cannot fast-forward and have the music play at a normal speed (for example, coming from a stereo). I do this so often, get my sims to practice a skill, put some music in the background and listen to it while I fastforward, and now it's just not that enjoyable.
I also dislike the whole neighbourhood-travelling thing. One time, a female sim of mine gave birth while I was playing with an other family (even though Auto Aging was disabled for non-active households), and the game randomized the child's name :/ And just the whole system is all kinds of confusing.
Let me not mention that I really miss the Toddler life phase, I mean, you can age up your baby right after birth! It's just not the same experience.
And I really miss being able to look back on memories, and being able to see family trees :(

Nevertheless, of all 4 games, this is the one I enjoy playing the most...!

True, it's amazing how fast the loading is!
And ahaha, your description of the faces is just hilarious  I personally can't help but love their sad face, that's actually my favorite  But true, they sometimes look really weird
And that grand hallway idea is downright amazing
    Can't wait for expansions either:woot:

I honestly think it's a great game, I've been playing it everyday since launch, I enjoy everything about it.

Build mode is fantastic, although sometimes I struggle with the colors, but that's something that gives it some kind of realism and difficulty, because you don't always find an object exactly the same color you want it to be, or something that matches 100%. The new tools are great, very easy to use, maybe the roof tools are a bit of difficult, but when you learn how to use it, it's great too.

Live mode is just awesome, the emotions are great, although I had to use some mods to make them a bit more meaningful, but that was just me (if you're interested I'm using the Buff Emotion Changes by zerbu, you can get it at mod the sims).

Now compering TS4 with TS3 I would say, although build mode in TS3 is very complete, and had CASt, I found it very laggy, and it was more difficult to create something in the moment, I felt like you had to have a plan before creating a house, that's what build mode in TS4 allows you to do, it let's you improvise, let the creativity out in the moment, if you make a mistake or don't like something it's way easier to fix. At this moment TS4 needs more stuff, because it's just a basegame, but they built a very strong foundation for what is coming, so I'll be waiting for more content.

Finally, compering live mode in TS3 and TS4, TS4 clearly kicks ass, I found TS3 more like a building game, because when I tried to play it, I found it very easy, it didn't present any challege like in previous games, the sims were just robotic, they were perfect, they could live by themselves, without the player's aid. In Sims 4, they feel more alive, I would like it to be a bit more difficult to maintain they're needs, but it's not as easy as TS3, and the emotions are a great way to compensate that, the sims are more "human", more relatable. I liked the open world in TS3, but I also love the districts in TS4, and I know in the future they're gonna make them bigger and/or they're gonna add more of them. And I also like that we're able to travel between worlds now, I hope they make more worlds, with different themes :) .

I've played TS3 since launch, until 2012, then I only looked what the rest of the expansions would incorporate, but that was it, it didn't absorb me like TS1 and 2, now with TS4, I found that feeling again, and I hope everyone that loves/loved this amazing franchise would give it a try, or another chance.

Sorry for the ranting, I just had to get that out of my system, because I keep seeing some posts that make me a bit sad, so...yeah, when I play TS4 I fell like the first time I've played the sims, I can see that they brought back some classic elements from the first one, and mixed it up a little :)

P.S.: Another thing, I prefer more short loading screens, than one big loading screen. Sometimes I didn't played the sims 3, because I didn't want to wait 30 minutes for it to load.

Actually, one thing that really bothers me about Build Mode is that if you create the outer walls of the house, then add a premade room that connects with the outer wall, then if you had already painted the outside of your house, the premade room's wall overwrites it. Basically, the outside of your house is no longer treated as one long wall but sections of walls. I might be the only one who paints the outside of the house first and then adds rooms, but to me it is quite frustrating.

I dont know why i never comented in this page.

I 've beign playing thesims4 for a while (having a hard time geting proper time to play games), honestly, comparing it to thesims3 basegame i am pretty satisfied with what we got in Thesims4, the over-focus on design and visual was scrapped for the implementation of more lively and intersting sims with better A.I that i asked so much during TS3 because i missed those a lot from Thesims2. I also remember complaining about ugly pre-mades and now, several of pre-mades are far from beign as ugly as they were in TS3, the game is way more fluid, more intersting, even with less things to do so early.

The CAS is just amazing, and altrough i would like a bodyshop program to create more options, the basegame options are already more pleasant than the ones i had in Thesims3. The only thing i did not like is that the town is too small, but with a CAW or something like that this should not be a problem, other thing i dont like is the "Surname contains bad word" crap.

I loved Thesims2 and Thesims1, heck, i even enjoyed the spin-offs Medieval and Stories, but after almost every EP, TS3 just gave me frustation, it didnt had the soul that made me enjoy thesims, it was more of a big stage for photos than an actual people simulator, i said in forum, over and over, that if TS4 had the souless robotic sims that Thesims3 bought, then i would quit the series, but now, i am back because Thesims4 made a 180 turn back to the tracks, and i think it has potential.

All in All, Thesims4 is not -perfect- but it is a good thesims in my opnion, Thesims2 is still the best and most fun for me, actually right now i still play it more than TS4 and have a lot to do that i did not before. I dont think that TS4 can top WillWright work but at least i hope that it fix the mistakes that were made during Thesims3, at least some of then, and to tell the truth, some of those are already beign fixed, unlike in TS3, Thesims4 are from the start showing that they listen to the community and there is already indication that Seasons gonna be the first EP.

As for me, i already uploaded loads of StrangeTown sim remakes in the gallery, you can check out if you want :)

I hate to say this but I am now starting to become very bored playing the Sims 4. I hate when I travel their needs deplete very fast so I have not been able to see alot of the venues. I am also having a problem with the lifestage. I know you guys are tired of hearing about no toddlers and I have tried to carry on as usual but it is just not fun to have newborns and then they jump to the child stage. I also don't like the interaction with the infant you have to put baby back into the crib after and before every interaction. So after awhile I'm like so bored and just don't know what else to do or where my story can go. I am so happy I have my Sims 3 to fall back on until more comes to the Sims 4.

I am addicted, period but you know me... teenagers need to be shorter than adults and elders plus elders should be hunch a bit.
CAS: Omg they are so fawkin' MESS! I really wish to have a "Body Shop" from Sims 2 for Sims 4 real bad because I remembered how easy to use them plus the icons were bigger. And I truly NEED CasT so bad! 3rdly... I really miss Sims 2 Camera more with mouse than Sims 3 camera. I hope someone out there who can tweak it if so... I WILL SPIT then shine on your shoes for life!
