    It's not really deceptive. Retailers have to list taxes separate on the receipt because of they way we do accounting here. The only way they could list taxes is if they were to show two different prices of the item but this may just confuse consumers more.

    Could they not just display the price with tax on the label but break down the price into product price and tax on the receipt?

    They have to be listed separate because of the way our laws are set up. The most a company can do is say they will pay the sales tax and offer a discount to the consumer. I don't know if this is true in every state but it is true in mine.

    are you from the states Sleepy? you guys are so lucky when it comes to digital games especially on console. For a brand new game digitally on PSN or XBL you guys have to pay the same price as it costs for the physical version which is typically $60. Prices haven't changed since last gen for you guys.

    Over here, next gen game prices ave been bumped up from £39.99 to about £49.99 but usually that price comes down on amazon.... but the digital prices are at ridiculous levels... £50-60 for a game digitially which you can buy physically for about £40

    Yes, our digital copies are way cheaper than physical ones and they go on sale often. I buy from several gaming storefronts online instead of the major retailers because PC games sold are Walmart, Target, Gamestop, etc. are priced really high and they just provide a digital key inside the boxes. Gamestop charges the same amount for used console games that Amazon charges for new ones. I usually buy my games from Amazon unless I am buying for my mom because if she is not interested, it is easier to return them.

    I just check amazon prices for the TS4 games, the limited edition is still priced at $60, but they have the premie edition priced at almost $80. That's crazy. I only found this out because I was doing a bit of amazon shopping for other items and looked it up out of curiosity. I would be ok buying a limited ed game at amazon because of their primo customer service, but if I decide to go Premium ed I will be hoping for another sale on origin close to release time.

    I just priced it on Newegg...the prices are the same there...guess that helps me decide where to buy from, since I still save at least $10 on the premium edition at origin
