Do you Want Custom Content in the Gallery?

I don't want custom content in the Gallery because EA is not putting a system in place that scans for it. Instead it is relying on people's word and others to comment on creations that have custom content I think the Gallery should not allow any custom content at all. I am not saying people who want custom content should not have it but those who want it, should download it from external websites.

Here are the problems with allowing custom content in the Gallery:

• Not everyone is honest. Some people will say their creations don't contain custom content when they actually do. Also, some people may not know their creations have custom content files attached to them and unknowingly upload them as custom content free.
• Creators can delete comments on their creations. If someone warns others about bad custom content in the comments of a creation, the creator can delete those comments.
• The custom content is downloaded directly into the game. If someone downloads bad custom content, their game will get messed up right away. There isn't a way to scan for custom content before it is added to the game.
• Custom content could be difficult to remove. Players who are unfamiliar with custom content and don't want it in their game may have a difficult time removing it from their games. In The Sims 3, players had the opportunity to delete and not install downloads with custom content but with The Sims 4, it is directly installed into the game.

These problems affect both new players and people who have been playing the game for a while. The Sims 3 Exchange is a complete mess and people are afraid to download from there because they don't want bad custom content in their game. The Gallery is a great feature but if EA is not going to monitor the custom content being uploaded, they should not allow it at all.

I believe SimGuruGraham said in an interview that creations with custom content would get a little flag in the gallery... At least, if I'm understanding correctly.

I already covered this in my OP. The problem is players would have to add this flag themselves and you can't trust everyone to be honest or to even care to flag their creations. Some people just upload. Thus, a filter would not always work.

Ah, I see. I thought the flag was given because EA's system recognized content that wasn't theirs. But I get it now, thanks.

They could make a part on The Gallery where you can share Custom Content by itself.

This is similar to the filter suggestion; we would still have to rely on others to be honest.
