So I know someone isn't going to read this and just see the thread title and then say I need to give it a chance and that I'm a hypocrite so I'll just tell them to refer to the original post.

I was okay with the seclusion of Toddlers and Pools but they have been yanking about 80 features out of the game! That's mostly because EA is forcing out a bloody unfinished game. And don't say it'll be released in an expansion. Sim Guru's said that they were taken out in favour of EMOTIONS AND REAL SIMS WHO CAN FEEL FEELINGS. Oh yeah, that and cool over exaggerated walk styles. They are even ignorant as to start talking about emotions in the middle of the reply to those who wondered why toddlers and pools were excluded.

I'd like to hear your part, please. Reply.

One this is a new game so no "80 features" Were taken out. Two they worked more on the new gameplay for the sims 4 aka emotions. If you ask me i'd like something new to the sims 4 as emotions and feel as it was a new game with the loss of something then for it to feel as the sims 3 but with better looking sims.....

I am not really "turned off" by it, I am still excited to play, and plan on buying all the games in the series, but I do wish certain features were in the base game, but as long as we get them eventually.

There are many things about the game that I'm not terribly pleased with, and I find it odd that they aren't releasing any review copies before the release date. But I tend to buy certain games blind anyway. I think nerfing the family aspect of the game was a mistake as it alienates a fairly large base of players, but I know the struggles that the devs went through even to get what we have out.

It's a new experience. I'll take it for what it is and get back to you on how much I enjoy it or not after it's out!

I am ridiculously excited for this game. I wish a few things had been included, but it is a completely new game and I am more than willing to give it a chance. The sims have yet to disappoint me. And if I don't like Sims 4, then I just won't buy any of the expansions. Simple as that.

Um nick, in my opinion that's not a good excuse to release an unfinished game. The Sims 4 is not a new game. If it were, the number on the title would be gone. Its a sequel and you'd expect a sequel to be BETTER than its predecessors. You can call it a new experience precisely because its missing everything. I'm buying the game because I know mods can patch those holes unfilled by developers for the sake of an early release. That and CAS looks beautiful. Everything else is oriented towards players who like making adult simselfs as pointed out by Mezz0.

If TS4 turns me truly bitter than I'd be disappointed. Thanks for replying!

See thats the thing Sims 4 isn't sims 3 or 2. If you want a so called "finished" game go play sims 1-3 with all eps and stuff packs :)

I've said it on the official forums and I'll say again here:

"Who's to say those 'removed features' won't return by any means necessary?"

Just because the base game doesn't have not even half of what the previous title had doesn't mean the 4th series will END on a bad note. This is merely the beginning of a lot of possibilities, regardless if it comes in the form of DLC or EPs.

If my guess is accurate, we have roughly 6ish years until we see TS4's true potential with the influx of future content.

I think EA just says, "Make this in this super short time frame, since you have about 5-7 years before the next game needs to come out. Good luck dealing with all these upset fans while you scramble the next few years to finally finish it after its release. :D"

I've play Sims 4 Ive played the rest 1, 2 and 3...but this demo thing is killing me ..there will be a whole lot of young adults lol and no kids or teens or old people cause the demo only lets you do young adult lol ...the old looking people they have made are really just young adults that look old lol...ok I'm done not everyone is gonna be happy about the changes but I try to think of the good stuff like CAS and the building mode and the loading screens and a few other things. I know it won't make up for the loss but I have to give the game a chance to see how it is before I can say anything about it...

This is my own opinion and thoughts, an I stick by them till the end, I only see this for myself and no one else(I will ONLY change my opinion for my perspective when I see something off to ME), not persuading anyone but telling my side, also not looking to make an excuse or cause trouble or try to prove myself for a game especially if it's a game series I love or just a game in general that I just LIKE playing.
The Sims 4 does not turn me off. I have seen actual footage of how the game is from people who went to creators camp so far, and I'm still is pumped up for it. I know that it is not the finalized version but I know half of it would be though. Pretty much I have a VERY open mind, but I know my limit, for ME I see nothing wrong with the game. It looks fun and everything else by the trailers, and how whacky and quirky and light hearted they make it be. But I know this is about the features though, my point is, through the actual gameplay footage I would see of the game from the community playing it and the developers playing it, I was not even thinking about "certain" things. I think that's how I'm different from A LOT of people is I don't expect anything out of this game or any game EVER, but for it to seem like it would be fun. I would believe this would be something that everyone had growing up, just getting a game and not thinking about features, me thinking now I think this relates to it being a PC game and having it not eating at someones computer causing it to break than a console. But yeah, I always did not care about the features but how inviting it is to come an play the game that's how I judge a game, if they have cool features then awesome, for ME I never worried about stuff they took out. I didn't think that even mattered. This is my 1st time entering into a certain gaming community(Meaning the Sims community), and me seeing controversy a whole LOT that I never knew even happened, cause of course before I would play games on a whim, I would never think about the problems a game may have with what they choose to do with it just playing it to play. Again I'm not here to pick a fight or persuade anyone, but just to give reasons why I like the game an why I'm ready for it(For some people it's a problem for them to know my reasons an may think it's not good enough, I have a more complex mind to let you know), an I will do this for a game I LIKE always. I really don't care if it's not a good enough excuse or anything, that's your opinion(I'm talking about anyone) but see that I will not see it anyone else's way until something BIG unfolds or I just turn out to not get that certain type of game based off of reasons, mainly something BIG unfolding, Lol.

I am excited for the game. As long as the game is fun, I don't care what features are added and what features are missing. I play games to have fun, not to have everything I want. If I wanted a game to have everything I wanted in it, I would design my own game (or finish one of the games I started but never completed).

Contrary to what most people believe, even simple games are time consuming and require a lot of work. Unless you have created a similar game to The Sims 4, I don't think it is fair to call the game unfinished or the devs lazy.

I like what I have seen and heard from those who have actually played the game. I do not hear them saying there are no kids, teens or elders, and we have seen them in many photos, and video's. I do not hear those who have played the game say anything bad, in fact I hear them saying they love the game, can't wait to play. These are people who have played Like Pinstar, he is in the process of changing the Legacy rules to fit Sims 4. He does not give a bad report that we can not play the Legacy, A lot of people are mad a LGR because he is not giving a bad report. I have read so many reports from those who have played and I have not heard a bad report from anyone who has played the Sims 4, It seems to me that all the bad reports are coming from those who have never ever played it. I can't say anything is bad if I haven't tried it. So if you download from Origin, and you don't like it, then get your money back, and they will delete the game for you, and then you can say what you think. I see a base game that looks exciting and refreshing to me. I guess it is all in how you play.
This is just my opinion of how I see it. Perhaps you have a different one and that is fine.

"I was okay with the seclusion of Toddlers and Pools but they have been yanking about 80 features out of the game!"
And did you actually cared about all those 80 features or are you just using a statistic number to march your case? Take a look at this website where it shows all the missing features: http://ts4news.com/post/94541924952/89-features-missing-from-the-sims-4

IMO, not even half of the things mentioned in there are significant or worthwhile to the game, in fact, they're trivial. A quick glace at the "OTHER MISSING GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS FROM TS1-TS3" part and you'll see what I mean. So, are you really sure the reason you're upset is because they removed stuff like this? Or are you simple one of those people that look for reasons to complain about something? Or a die-hard fan that believes that everything you love must stay immaculate and unchanged forever?

Its ok if you're disappointed or tired of the series. After 3 major titles with dozens of expansion packs, other people would be too. I just think that the reasoning you're using here to back your "frustration" is a tad shallow. Not to mention that some of the features that were "taken off", were replaced by others, i.e repo-man and the current shutting down water/electricity.

We loose some, we win some. What would be the point of releasing new Sim series if everything were to remain the same? Better graphics? Do you think that better graphics would be enough of a justification to spend a small fortune in the new game and all its x-packs? Just stick to the older titles and pretend TS4 doesn't exist.

Personally, I'm excited. Everything I've seen in gameplay videos promises a more lively game. I miss the days when I could end up so immersed playing Sims that I lost track of time. Sims 3 stopped doing that for me a long time ago -- all I did was manage my town; I didn't care about my Sims, and I never went in anymore to watch them do something up close. I'm not angsting about what's "missing" in the base game. I guess I just never had a laundry list of what had to be in the game, and there seems to be plenty that is in the game, plus the new world structure promises to be able to bring lots more into the game without bogging my not-at-all-crap computer down. Sims 4 looks like a better sequel to Sims 2 than Sims 3 turned out be in practice, and I'm looking forward to that.
