    A hugeeee part of of the Sims community is just regular people, women in particular I have noticed, probably because it's an easy to get into, relaxing game. And when you think about how many women spend over $1000 on a high spec gaming pc JUST to play the Sims it narrows it down even more. You've got to realise that's the market EA/Maxis are making the game for... not the hardcore gamer who want ultra high realistic graphics. Bumping up the graphics considerably, would completely alienate a good 70% of the games userbase, since a lot of those people just play on regular laptops with built in graphics chips which suck for gaming.

    I just installed the Sims 4 on my desktop pc which is old as hell, cant even run the new Simcity smoothly or any new game for that matter. But as soon as I installed The Sims 4, I could crank up the graphics to ultra at 1080p and got a very respectable 20-70fps. So to be honest I am happy with what they've done... it's playable on just about anything you can put it on. And at the same time they've went with an art style that's an improvement on the Sims 3 but still pretty conservative which keeps it running smoothly on everything. It's all about comprimises :)

    And the UI etc will grow on you, remember it's the base game :) I am jumping essentially from playing the base game of TS2 to this and I am really loving it so far. We just have to be patient :)

    @Korvaz @WatchSparks Thanks for the help guys! I switched to Offline Mode in Origin and I changed the settings to High and it's playing smoothly! Ah, maybe I can get into this game after all. What a drama queen I am. :p:oops:

    I'm very mad at former fellow Comrade Deb for telling me to grow up and wait. She and another so-called simmer who are waiting 'for later' to get the game can't get it through their skulls I should have gotten the game the earlierest yesterday and by the latest on Monday but because Walmart screwed up big time I wouldn't be getting the game til maybe two weeks after other people have it since it might not be shipped until a week from today.

    You know... real-life power outages are pretty inspirational for me as of recently. My power's just been cut off for a little over an hour (due to storm) and I used that time to map out a floor plan of my first house I'll build in TS4. This got me really excited in the dullest environment ever. (Being in the dark with practically nothing to do)

    Being in the darkness alone isn't always a bad thing though if you have a pencil, paper and a bit of light as well as TS4 on your mind. :D I'm gonna have a blast building and decorating this house!

    Just a test screenshot I took in the game, settings are on High, runs with a tiny bit of lag if I'm zoomed all the way in, but if I'm zoomed out it seems to work smoothly. I'm just wondering if uninstalling The Sims 3 (folder says 34.2GB) would help at all... I don't think it would to be fair, and I might return to The Sims 3 later on, so not sure if it's worth the effort. But hey, at least I'm not refunding my copy of The Sims 4 anymore. :p
