I'm really excited for The Sims 4. I get that people are annoyed by removal of features, but if that means a more stable game, I'm willing to pay the price. Besides, the changes really cater to my style of gameplay. I like the fact that we can change families interchangeably without the loss of wants and other perks. That and TS2 style aging. I really like to micromanage families and create their background stories.

Story Progression is really the one thing that I was a bit sore about, simply because it clashes with my play style. I don't play the townie families, nor multiple families for that matter. I pick one and play it till im bored, then go on and create a new one. It was always fun seeing what happened to old households.

That said, I can live without it and am hoping that someone in the wonderful modding community can get something functional working for us who prefer it.

    I agree.
I also feel that the people on the forums on The Sims 3 site are taking the information released on TS4 and spinning it out of control.
I don't really feel like I am getting accurate information on what TS4 is going to be like. Which is why I originally went on those forums.

They are absolutely doing this. I've seen numerous people read information, watch a video or see an article with multiple pieces of information and they'll focus on one or two things that make them angry. The list of "missing/crippled" items includes a few unconfirmed things (though they are likely to be left out) and, in my opinion, a lot of padded items. At this point, I believe a lot of people are too angry to see anything but negatives and they're essentially feeding off of each other and building the negativity.

Yes, there are a certain few that I think take it way out of hand... I wont name names though... but they drive me nuts.

I, too, am leaving the TS3 official forums (mpdrei) to join this one :) I tried to tolerate the nastiness but cannot stand people who bask in negativity, I'm happy this forum was mentioned. I never wanted to state my opinion because of the toxicity, and when I did I tried to be as neutral as possible (and felt the need to add disclaimers of "this is MY opinion", etc).
I am looking forward to spending forum time around those who are optimistic and enjoy the new changes in The Sims 4 similar to myself.

This is totally why I came here last night to watch all the information upload and talk on your shoutbox. Even mts is so negative. I mean I know they have a right to be because everyone has a right to an opinion, but I love the fact that everyone is so excited here and it was so much fun talking about the news excitedly with everyone.

Exactly. if anything they should be grateful that EA would even think to listen to their request about what to put in the game. I already am. Im fine with no tots, pools, create a style, no seeing your sims off to work, and a short loading screen between districts, I'm more than fine with the way babies are set up. 1) I never cared for the tots in ts3 2) I only put a pool up for decoration, my sims never used it. 3)Create a style slowed up the process of CAS a bit, you could spend hours pondering which pattern goes with which 4) As long as my sims are rolling in the dough, I'm going to let them be great. and EA said that there will be a big surprise revolving around work that their excited about so that peeks my interest. 5) The partially closed off world doesn't bother me, I can tell it was likely to make the game run better. On ts3 the whole open world and too many lots made the game lag on my part 6) Babies were like objects anyway, so whats the difference?
I'm more than excited to get this game. and I hope that all of you that i meet on here I could get in touch with once they take down the sims 3 and replaces it with the sims 4 site. I would love to be friends with all of you!

There is only one real thing that drives me insane is that in Australia sims 4 comes out September 4 instead of the second. So i will have to watch everyone else playing it for a day. Though even that will at least give me a good idea of what I want to do first by watching other peoples reviews.

Wow people are so rude. That is just not fair. You can voice your opinion without being mean. Like most of the answers in that thread are just being mean and I bet they all end up buying sims 4 and playing it. U know what they are missing out on being excited about the next generation of sims and that is sad for them.

They are so mad over the content removal. What matters right now is how the game LOOKS and FEELS. If that is great, and gameplay is possible THEN you look at content as most of the stuff that was cut can be added later on. I feel like they don't understand that things can be added and they're comparing it to fully loaded Sims 3 and 2. Obviously those games are better content wise, but TS4 looks way better, imo.

The modders are always angry and they bash EA's coding skills. EA coding is not all bad. They do a descent job. My thing is, if you don't like the game don't mod for it or buy it.
