Hey everyone, this is my first real post :3 (apart from my introduction) I am absolutely obsessed with the sims 4, and I seriously cannot wait for it to come out!

So, I'm curious, what is everyone's favourite thing about the sims 4 so far? I have so many favourite things, it's so hard to say!
I love the way sims can multi-task so easily, and I love the neighbour hood idea, it just feels nice. Watching other neighbours in the street interact with each-other, or even just go for a jog in front of your house, following pathways perfectly, is just so great to see! I love it! And the town looks so beautiful! The sims may not look 'perfect' in some people's eyes, but I really like how they look, I hardly cared much about how perfect my sims looked in previous games, I'm all for gameplay! and they've added so many new things to do, especially for a base game. I also love new skills they've brought in, 18 of them! (or so I read) compared to the sims 3 BASE GAME, that's a lot more, and it's awesome. :celebrate:
And the whole loading deal.. I mean, I frankly am not bothered, if I have to wait maybe 10 seconds for a lot to load, which will mean that it will be full of life and have a big group of sims there, I am all for it! What about you guys? I'd love to hear other people's opinions, I'm just so freaking excited for this game! :D

I'm excited for all of the things you mentioned! The skills and the new neighbourhood are my favourite new features at the moment. I love the new look of the sims, I think the cartoony style suits them.

Yeah, it does suit them! I also noticed the clothes in CAS look a lot better, and they actually have lots more hairstyles! I would always have to download new sims and hairstyles because I hated the ones in CAS, but these ones look great, which makes me feel like I won't be needing to download new hairstyles all the time (that was literally the main thing I was always downloading) and tattoos in the base game are also a great idea, rather than having to wait to get them in an expansion later on. :D

Yeaa! Finally some nice hairstyles in each length. I thought a lot of the long ones especially looked so nice. I was never great at creating sims to how I wanted them to look like but I think it will be so much easier for me now.
I love that in build mode you can move the whole room as an object, makes it easier for people like me haha. :roflmao:

I'm having to use serious restraint right now because I want there to be SOME surprises once I get in game. I purposely haven't listened to any of the soundtracks and SimsVIP listed all the satisfaction rewards and I quickly scrolled past them haha! It's so hard not to watch the different videos we have access to right now but I'm doing okay. I stalk the boards and have read lots of neat information. I think one of my favorite pieces was the interview with SimsVIP and Argus. My jaw dropped to the floor when he started talking about some of the Aspiration rewards. He mentioned the one for Writers and Music and I was so excited!

I think many people keep forgetting it's a base game. To me base = basic and honestly, just what they've done with the Sims themselves has me excited! As a true sims fan, I've always gotten attached to my sims and now that they're more alive than ever, I can easily see this taking up a huge chunk of my life haha! I love the graphics, emotions, the easy "drag and pull" options from CAS to Build Mode. I mean holy cats!! When I saw Graham decide he needed a better home and just plopped a new one over top his old one... I think I could hear my heart beat inside my head lol! I have the whole first week of September off from work so I can dive in and disappear from the public for awhile haha! :joyful:

My favorite so far would have to be the sims themselves. From what I have seen, the seem to have more life to them and I am really excited about that. I love the art style as well.

I agree SO much! People keep saying the game looks crap, but this is only the base game! they have put so much into a base game, I can't imagine how much stuff is going to come in the future, people just have to be patient, the sims 4 is going to be awesome. I will admit, I do prefer the sims 3 soundtrack, but it'll probably just take some getting used to! TS4 soundtrack, is actually quite nice. :) The build mode? OH MY GOD, my life is now fixed! I would never build a house in the sims 3, because even if the wall was slightly wrong, it meant I would have to redo the whole bloody house! the new features they have added make it so easy, and it's great they are thinking about us crappy builders who need help, haha! And also, the gallery feature is amazing! I love how easy and simple everything is, to me, this base game is amazing! I know so many people are complaining about pools and toddlers, but seriously, I think all of this stuff is so much better, and they WILL add it in the future, which means expansions based on them? which then means, more stuff related to that, maybe more stuff for pools, more actions/clothes/toys for toddlers and whatnot, they will make sure they give their fans what they want, if they did add those things into the game, it would've had to of been delayed, so I respect them for not doing it now, because I'm pretty sure fans would've been more disappointed if the game was delayed, surely? I know I would've been!

I love the new CAS and I like how the sims look. I am itching to get my hands on build mode--it looks awesome! But, like burntcheese, I most excited about how much they've fleshed out the sims themselves--the emotions, whims, social interactions, multitasking--all of it looks like it's almost exactly what I was hoping for (not ignoring that they might improve on it in future franchises, of course). I am really, really looking forward to putting my sims through the emotional wringer, so to speak, so I can see how all of the emotions work.

I also like the overall aesthetic of the worlds so I'm looking forward to exploring them. I know a lot of people are disappointed that regular careers aren't included but I hardly ever played them so I'm excited that painter is an actual career choice, for instance. I was disappointed that scientist isn't a career option but, after seeing some of the objects we have access to (the rocket, giant telescope and giant microscope), it seems like it might be pretty easy to have my sim be a scientist, even if it's an unofficial career (if that makes sense). IOW, I don't feel limited by the game options with careers. If I can sell items, then it seems plausible that I can use handiness/woodworking as my career and simply sell my handmade items for money.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a lot in this game.:p

The new interactions. For me having old and new interactions wether its with the sim itself or other sims or the objects around them is always exciting especially when there are more interactions that I have yet to uncover.

I agree, I was hoping to see some romantic interactions, to see if there is any new ones (which there obviously has to be) but I'm just curious, all we've really seen is sims woo hooing. Hopefully we'll see some soon.

Yeah, the emotions look really cool! It's awesome seeing their mood change, and how they react differently. They really thought this game through! Being able to have a better workout when they are angry, it's all perfect! With the whole careers deal, I hardly ever got my sim a career, they just lived a carefree life! :giggle2: but I do think the careers are quite cool, bearing in mind that more will probably come in the future with expansion packs. I'm so excited for this game!

I like the fact that we have more control over each family, like we did back in The Sims 1 and 2. Multitasking and better routing are also awesome features. Besides, we get 1000+ objects in the base game only (remember in TS3 base game we got just a few).

Favorite thing to do was fishing in TS3 so it will probably be the same in TS4 :) Also I think I am going to enjoy the heck out of CAS before I even get to the actual gameplay. Looking forward to house building from the ground up as well (though I admit I am no expert at building amazing homes like my favorite YouTuber, Deligracy -- she is awesome )... I know this is too early to say if The Sims team plans on making an expansion pack before the end of this year; but if they do decide on it, I too like many others would like to see pools make an appearance again -- maybe even make the EP like the wonderful past TS3 : Island Paradise :D:drowning:

Yeah, you can fish at the park in the lake, and it looks so pretty! they put so much effort into decorating the smallest details in the game. :) I think I'm really going to enjoy cas too! And I'm starting to get a tiny bit better at making houses, haha. :roflmao: So building in the sims 4 will be so much easier, people will be able to build houses in half the time it takes them to do it in the sims 3, meaning there's more time for game-play, and less time getting annoyed with building. It would be really great if they did decide to bring out an expansion, I'm sure it will either be something related to pools, or toddlers, since they know how much everyone wants those things back, it'll definitely be the first thing on their mind. :)

Exactly. There's so much stuff in the base game already, and if we get the same amount of expansion packs as the sims 3, just imagine how much stuff we're going to get! :celebrate:

I love that there is a bigger variety of objects, for instance i got REALLY excited when i saw the counters in the IGN house building video with the separate level for the cooking and eating surfaces, and that the end of the peninsula didn't just end, but curved back around a bit. Just all the little details in the houses that make it feel "real".

...the little things really do make it for me. Maybe I'm just easily excitable :cat:

I'm so excited for CAS and Build Mode. They look so much better now! I'm really excited for the gameplay. It looks so fun and smooth. This game provides the perfect template for expansions and additional content.
