I was wondering on how many of us have actually pre-ordered the Game. I think I stated on another thread that game being kinda expensive made me kinda iffy BUT I actually ended up pre-ordering it at Target. With a coupon, gift card, and red card the game came out around $52.00 for me or so (give or take)

But yea, has anyone else pre-ordered? I was considering pre-ordering Premium, thought about it for a while and just assumed I could download the stuff later on when someone decides to put it up.

I won't lie to you...I SOOOO want to pre-order the premium edition. However, realistically speaking...I'm still wondering where I'll get the money to get the home computer updated (or build a whole new system just for TS4), much less to pay for the pre-ordered game itself. Glad to hear you got a good deal on the game at Target. I'll be keeping an eye out for deals between now and the time when it's actually released. :)

Well, this is a computer my husband built several years ago...but it has 4g of memory...and it uses an internal video card. The video card is the only thing that I think I might need to purchase separately, if I use the same computer as my husband. I was considering building a new one to use just for Sims 4 stuff and regular browsing, but I'm thinking with the cost of separate parts it might total too much for me to be able to still save up enough cash for TS4. This computer processor is an AMD Phenom II x4 940...so I think if I used the same computer and just beefed it up a bit with a separate video card again, it would probably work for the meantime until I can afford the parts to build a separate one. :pompus:

I'm not sure they'll do this. Here's my thinking. With TS4, you can travel between worlds and neighborhoods without losing anything. So, your Sim can live in Willow Creek and work in Oasis Springs. You can start in Oasis Springs, have your sim fall in love with someone living in Willow Creek and move there but still have family to visit in Oasis Springs. With that in mind, it doesn't make sense to have every separate lot and neighborhood have different seasons. I could see them doing a neighborhood or world that's got a certain theme that's seasonal (like a Swiss Alps sort of world that's snowy/wintery) but it seems like it would be odd to do it arbitrarily with each neighborhood or lot. Anyway, that's my thoughts on this. Maybe they will end up doing the way you described but I we won't know till they start doing EPs.

I was going to pre-order the Premium, but the deal isn't as sweet as in Germany or Italy. I am not in love with the DLC with it and I usually don't listen to soundtracks. I am a physical item kind of girl.

But yeah...I am just going to get the regular and CE Strategy guide.

If you aren't looking to get something extremely powerful, you can get parts pretty cheap on Newegg. A low-mid-range gaming PC would run you maybe $500 or so all said and done (plus a monitor if you need one). I obviously don't know your financial situation, but it might be a good idea, especially if you could use the utility of having a second computer in the house. I assume you (or your husband) are savvy in computer building? If not feel free to shoot me a message and I'll be more than happy to answer questions :)

edit* On Topic: I'm still borderline iffy. If I'm being honest, I'm going to get it...unless some major bombshell drops. I'm more just debating if I want to shell out the extra cash for the premium version.

I pre-ordered the collectors edition yesterday, with that sweet lil usb thing and the book that I way wanna know whats in it. I couldn't not pre-order it, it's the sims and even if it ends up being terrible I would regret at least not trying it.

My hubby built his desktop...so if I chose to build a new one I'd get him to help me out. Our finances are beyond strained (still wondering if I will be able to save up enough $ to buy TS4 at this point)...but it's still something I'm considering. I just ordered an optical drive for the house desktop, so I may just get a video card for it and call it a day...if so...I'm hoping to catch the game on sale just before it's released. Thanks for the offer though, I'll hit you up if I need any advice :D

lol...that's the graphics card I had on one of my old computers I got a friend to build for me years ago. I was actually pricing on Amazon not too long ago myself. I'll have to read up on it on newegg or tigerdirect too :)

EDIT: nope..I take that first statement back...though my video card back then probably costed a little more than the current price for that one.

I think I can run TS4 pretty okay.

Back on topic though, The Sims 4 is currently ranked number 6 on pre-order charts standing at about 95.7k. Now That's just pre-orders. I kinda expect a bigger number days after the game releases. I was recently informed I would be getting the game sometime Sept 4th-9th -.- Damn Target lol.

Slight change of plans (maybe)...I'm thinking of pre-ordering the premium version from Walmart. I'm not really worried about the free sour patch kids, but I'd be able to use paypal to order it. Since I fill out surveys daily (a large number that pay via paypal), I'm thinking that might be the winning route for me to take. Also, the shipping is free and they offer a guaranteed release date delivery. The price is a little more than Origin's price, but if I can use paypal to get it...it makes the process that much easier for me in the end. :)

EDIT: Scratch that...I just realized you can use paypal to make purchases on origin as well. It all boils down to whether I want to invest in the actual game (physical disk and all) for an extra $10, or stick with the digital download that will link straight to my origin account. Damn...decisions, decisions...

I preordered about a month ago. I'm getting the Premium edition from Amazon. Since my birthday is a week after the game comes out so it's my early birthday present! I also get to play until my birthday without too many interruptions and I've been promised they will listen to all my "oh, my sim just did this crazy thing!" comments without rolling their eyes! How awesome is that? LOL

One up side to ordering the digital version--you can start downloading the game on August 29, in the US and start playing at midnight EST (for me, that's 11pm).:celebrate:
