Yay :3 I'm sure they will make up for it somehow, I feel like in the future they are going to bring us pretty awesome expansion packs. :D

I'm fairly sure the "pee 5 times" thing was someone being extreme with their example. I was actually in the middle of that discussion. To be honest, the whole idea that goals and quests are new to TS4 is a trumped up argument with no basis in fact. The person who started that particular thread did so with the sole intention of stirring things up.

As for the second comment, just because you don't play a certain way doesn't mean someone else can't enjoy playing that way. I like having my Sims do goofy things sometimes. If you don't like it, don't have your sims do it, but picking out a specific comment and insulting someone over it isn't very polite.

First of all I never insulted anyone, that was my opinion, as you have your opinion on your way of playing your game, I have mine :)

I actually like most of the things people are complaining about. I played The Sims 2 and 3 to see if the things people are complaining about really affect the way I play.

    • Toddlers - I will miss having the age stage but I mostly had my Sims be bad parents. I just sat the toddlers on the floor and left them while they were hungry. I really didn't put them in cribs and I let them sleep on the floor. The imaginary friend doll was a life saver for my toddlers. I got a butler to take care of them. Once ITF came out, I got a plumbot with the nanny chip.
    • Babies being tied to cribs - Babies have always been objects so no change there. I like this feature in The Sims and I am glad they brought it back. I hated when babies would end up on the floor blocking paths or when Sims would take the baby outside and leave it there when I had free will turned on.
    • Teen height - I prefer teens taller and I think the teens are really good looking in this game. I always thought they looked like preteens before but could drive and go on dates. I like how they look like older teens and can do things older teens can do. Height really doesn't bother me and I really am no invested in the height of age stages.
    • No create-a-style - I am going to miss this feature and from the demo I see how much I am going to miss it. I do like the presets though. I always have The Sims 3 to go back to if I am feeling extra creative though.
    • Loading screens - I play plenty of other games with loading screens so this does not bother me. Also, The Sims 4 is still considered open world. It is just not fully open like The Sims 3.
    • The possibility of glitches - I have played a ton of video games and all of them have glitches. As long as it doesn't interfere to where I can't play, I am fine. EA is pretty good about releasing patches so I don't have to worry about that. Out of all the games EA has released that I have played 21 PC, 5 console, and 6 mobile/Facebook, I would say that they all run pretty good. The Sims 3 base game runs well. It just has issues when expansion packs and some store premium content is installed. The game I had the most issues with is Alice: Madness Returns (PC) because I am facing a glitch that prevents me from passing a certain part in the game. I did not have this problem on PS3. Although EA's customer support was terrible in the past, they really have improved.
    • No pools. In the Sims 3 base game pools were basically a decoration. They really didn't do anything and to get the function I wanted out of them I had to buy two EPs and a store set. I would rather pay later for a fully developed pool concept than having to wait and pay bit by bit to get the functions I want.

It is insulting when you pick out a quote from someone describing things they like about the game and then qualify it by saying you think it's childish. Yes, it's an opinion but it's also offensive to do it that way. If you'd stuck with I think it's childish to have "pee like a champion" and the bro trait, you would just be expressing your opinion. Quoting someone to say that somethings is childish implies that the person you're quoting is childish, as well and is an insult.

The one thing I will miss most is pools. I used those quite often so hopefully they'll be added back in the future. Toddlers I always aged straight away to children, I like how their concentrating on the Sims themselves in the base game the most and then they'll amazing EPs with our past favorite content and fun new stuff to do as well :)

    I forgot
    • No story progression: Won't be missed. I always had it turned on in the event it would do something in my game and keep my worlds populated with mixed ages but it didn't. My worlds just died after three generations or was filled with elders. I think people who used mods liked it but without mods it really isn't much difference than the story progression they are offering in The Sims 4 and what we have now.
    • No cars. Not really necessary since we have a loading screen. In The Sims 2 I just used them as a woohoo spot. If the world was like The Sims 3 world, they would be missed.
    • No ghosts/aliens. Yes, I will miss those. I hope they bring them back even better in a Supernatural EP. I can understand why they didn't add them because not everyone likes supernatural things in their game. Hopefully there is a supernatural creature in the base game that wasn't in the version they let the people demo.
    • No terrain tools. I will really miss this but I would rather have the ability to place rooms where I want rather than having terrain tools in the game. I do hope they return. If they don't, I can still play The Sims 3.

Ah, I see where you might have been confused if you pulled it whole from the other forums and assumed it was the same person. It wasn't the same person making that comment. The first quote was from Cinebar (who dislikes all of the RPG elements) and the second quote was from UtaDagda which is why he responded here to your comment about it being childish.

It's really a better idea, as I suggested, to just list out the things you think are childish and say that's how you feel about them than to quote someone else and imply they're childish by liking those things.

I agree that there are aspects of the game I'm not happy with. I quite like toddlers, and I will definitely not be happy to pay an extra whatever it is to buy them into my game. I don't mind pools being gone, but I understand that it's a big deal for some people. I like story progression but I think it definitely was not a perfect system. I would rather not have it at all than have the version of it that existed.

I agree that the extreme goofiness of the game is a bit offputting for me. I love the OPTION of playing Supernaturals so I will miss them, but some of the aspects of the game DO seem childish to me. Even child me playing the original Sims wouldn't have liked some of that stuff.

And babies. Baaaaabies. Being tied to the bassinet again really does make me sad, because even though my babies spend a lot of time in their cribs and I sometimes hated them, if you're going to get rid of toddlers, I would hope that some other young sim age got a lot more attention. I was not pleased with the tied-to-bassinet- interactions, especially considering the wide opportunity there is with multitasking!

I don't think it's fair to accuse this person of just coming to stir up drama. Dissenters are allowed to exist the same as anyone else. This forum should be representative of all Sims players, and it should be fine to voice any opinion as long as it's done respectfully.

Yeah I was a horrible parent too, well I was a cheater lol. Testingcheatsenabled + just keep raising their motives, for both babies and toddlers lol. My sims didn't have time for that! Lol! Then I just Nraas cheated the walking, talking, and potty training skills. I was only angry about toddlers being taken out was because it just didn't feel right jumping from baby to a giant kid. I also like in The Sims 4 it seems we can age our baby up any time if we can't be bothered with the baby.

I prefer not to because I like my parents and kids being the same age apart, like if a parent had their kid at 22 yrs old, I won't want to age up to a kid so then they'd be 16 yrs apart, like the parent had them super young or something.

And yeah for pools, I never used them. Tbh in TS3 it lacked interactions. I wish we could had done more in the pool like play Marco Polo, use floaties, play pool ball, and stuff. So I can see why they delayed it. They probably wanted to add more interactions to it and I can't wait to see the finished pools.

I was mad about loading screens at first, and now I am glad. They don't seem too bad, and are actually pretty fast. They load a whole 'nother big lot where we can do more in. I hated the rabbitholes and probably the seamless n-hood is why they had rabbitholes, a lot of computers could barely handle TS3 and opening up the rabbitholes would just use up more resources. I would rather have open lots along with a less buggy, stable game.

Then with the glitches, there may be less this time around lol. I can't count the amount of times I played and some glitch would happen or how the clock would freeze on 11:59 pm or crash on an age up, even on a clean game with no mods or CC.

Gigi, I really can't help you with your crash issues because there are so many things that can be causing crashes. If you follow the steps below, you should come across a fix for your crashes. This is taken from my The Sims 3 technical guide.

    • Crashes. Crashes are in individual issue. If you experience crashes contact EA support. Be sure to upload your DXDiag and text files listed below that are located in your My Documents The Sims 3 folder before you start the chat/call. A specialist will be able to tell you the reason for the crashes and how to stop them. The most common cause of crashes is running background programs while playing the game:
      • xcpt "Your computer name"
      • Options
      • DeviceConfig

I have yet to argue with you over how you FEEL. I WILL disagree with you over whether you're being rude or not, which, in this case, you are. You can use the excuse that it's how you FEEL all you want--it's still an excuse and you're still being rude.

My mistake regarding where you took the quote from. The poster that Coolio quotes is Cinebar from a thread pguida started about unlocking lots. Cinebar used "pee 5 times to unlock a reward" as an exaggerated example of the rpg system in the game. It apparently went viral on the forums after that, likely partly because of Coolio's thread. There is NO confirmation, no one has a link to any source that verifies this as a "quest" of some sort, and even though I asked a couple of times no one responded to explain where that came from. My conclusion is that Cinebar actually was being hyperbolic to get her point across and that there IS NO PEE 5 TIME FOR A REWARD option. Your opinion that the game is immature based on a fake activity in the game is misplaced. If there are other reason you find the game immature, that's your choice, but using the pee 5 times thing as a reason is inaccurate.

Finally, you stated that the two quotes came from the same person who said the game was childish. Also incorrect. The first quote is from coolio's OP. The second quote is from UtaDagda who did not say it was childish and was sharing what he liked about the game. Period. Just because someone likes something you don't and shares about it does not make their opinion open game for you to insult, which you did by implying he's childish. THAT is what I was disagreeing with you over. Not that you think the game is immature.

Didn't SimsVIP say she did her stuff with free will turned off? I would imagine that is why her Sims seem so robotic. I would love to have seen them with Free Will on since even the Guru's did theirs with free will off.

That being said, I also noticed the OCD freak-out inducing misaligned stair/meets wall and the color being off on the counters. I think the counter thing may have been a creator issue though, could have chosen the wrong color. I didn't like the way the counters stick out at sharp angle.

There are many things to dislike about this game but I'm pretty stoked about the build portions so far from what we've been shown.
