Did you know that you can have two games on one computer?

How this works is that you have your main Origin account and that account has everything. All the EPs, all the SPs, and all the store content. You then make a second Origin account (say for your child) on the same computer. You register ONE EP (the base game is a good one) on that second Origin account. Do not install this EP, just register it through Origin.

Launch the base game from this second account, make sure you are signed into the game launcher with this second account. Notice that this second account (that you only got the base game for) has everything the first account has in it.

    Why?

Because there is only ONE SIMS3 folder per computer so everything in that folder is now shared with this second account.

Congratulations, you just saved yourself a bunch of money and your kid now has the full game.

(Wonders if this will work with Sims 4 eventually???)

I saw a My Page friend posting about this and thought I would share it. I tried it myself and it works. Not only that but you can also put your Origin account onto a second computer, act like you are installing to that second computer so put everything on it. Then go through the above steps again, the second computer now has everything as well.

This is completely legal, no cheating involved, since you are allowed to authorize your game on up to 5 computers.

    Ask any questions.......

I actually have the base game on my boyfriends origin and I have no problem playing it though his account with all expansions and store content. I would get an account for my daughter but she just uses mine since she only going to be 6 soon lol She cant play without me anyway.

If you were to play the game on a separate computer, that doesn't have the base game installed, but using a account that has everything, will it work?

I think it depends on what is installed on that computer. Like if the eps and store content isnt installed then it wont work unless you install them. I hope this helps lol

You have to install everything from the account that has everything. Then, you make a second Origin account. According to the Guru post, you don't even need it to be the base game but any EP. Register that EP for the second account through Origin.

Since only 1 Sims 3 folder is generated per computer (unless you partition the hard drive) then everything in that Sims 3 folder will be shared across Origin accounts.

Just act like you have bought a new computer and are moving all your stuff to that one. You download through Origin onto the second computer. From what I understand, one of the EPs requires you to put in the registration code (I think it was Island Paradise but not sure). This one EP will require you to get a separate one for that second computer. Since I'm not sure which one it is, just do the cheapest option (base game only) and go that route.

Just to be clear, you HAVE to create the second Origin account and that account has to have at least one EP of it's own registered. That second computer needs to have everything installed into that Sims 3 folder from your original account. They share that folder. You will see the .bin file showing both email accounts in the Sims 3 folder.
