yeah i'm learning now i'll have to start reconsidering that from here on. I assume because it wasn't a retail product, merely a demo that it would be fine to allow it. If there's one thing I don't want to do, is be heavy handed when moderating.

@sodagod Thanks for the clarification and supporting my point. I thought they fixed the glitch that if you were banned from the forums you would still be able top play your Origin games in offline mode http://help.ea.com/mx/article/electronic-arts-account-suspension-policy/. Did you try contacting support? If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to get banned? I have seen several people violate the EULA over and over without a ban in sight.

@Lokisimsies The postrers unofficial monitor the EA Sims 4 forum to keep it a peaceful place. All of the mods left and went to EA Answers HQ for the prizes. In The Simpsons Tapped Out forum over there, EA does read it and they make jokes about the posters in the game. It is funny and we love the devs support. I think it really depends on how involved the studio is with the forums. For example, devs will post on the SimsCity forum while no one posts on The Sims 4 forum. Hopefully this will change once the game is released.

Maybe discussing the torrented things can be accepted to a point, but I'd hate for something to happen to this community over that. Maybe directly linking to such things shouldn't be allowed?

@Dawnbreak I think that would still cause problems.
@sodagod I think having a VIP members only forum would be a good idea. It would be a good incentive for members to become a VIP. I will become a VIP but I just have to wait until next month. I have a few unexpected expenses.

@SleepyD2k I am very familiar with how TSTO is run and what goes on behind the scenes. It ticked me off when they rewarded that person at Reddit who single handily cost them thousands of dollars in lost revenue with his hack. The one that allowed people to use Blue Stacks and go in and just give themselves as many donuts and every single item that they wanted. It was insane, who does that? Us mods were stunned when they rewarded him and that super troll Josh something or other by putting them in the game.

To clarify a point, EA does not read the forums. EA reads the mod/admin sections of the forums and then goes to look to see what we are fussing about and then that is how it comes to their attention. At least it was that way a couple of years ago, I haven't been back since other than to see if anything has been done with the Sims 4 forum so no idea what is done now. I know I've been told by friends who started their own forum that things are really bad now in the game.

@Lokisimsies I guess you hate Josh because you are a mod but I love him. He he so funny. He will buy everything in the game and then complain and I just find him so funny. I really don't take him serious and I go to the forum just to read his posts. I thought when EA included him in the game it was funny. I am surprised they don't read the entire forums. I also did not know about the hack joke in the game. I guess that one slipped over my head.

As far as the EA not responding, I see them post with their EA ids towards people but I don't know if it is because a mod brought it to their attention or because they actually read the forums. I am assuming the people work for EA because they have EA in front of their username and the EA logo. Are these people volunteer players also?

I know that not all of the people who work on the game read the forums because it is something they basically have to do on their own time when they are not busy working on the game and for some, it really isn't their thing. Plus others don't want to deal with all the negative comments.

@SleepyD2k Some people have put the EA logo in front of their names and they are not associated with EA. Mods will have a title, senior mods will have a title, EA staff with have the EA hyphen in front of their names. Yes, usually EA steps in when we ask them but occasionally they will do it on their own. They are far more active in the Sim City forum, well, they used to be. The EA ones are paid, the rest are volunteers.

Josh is alright. I never had a personal problem with him but as I said, I wasn't much of a face on the forums. My only issue with him was that he knew how to stir the pot. His posts caused a bunch of trolling and that got to be so tedious. Were you around when Josh first started out? He actually tried to help people when donuts were being lost left and right and people were being locked out of their games. Then he got called a troll and snapped. He did some pretty bad trolling for a long time till he calmed down and started being funnier. It's hard to forget his past.

How long have you been at the TSTO forum? Do you play Freeplay? I'm trying to see if you were there when I was still there and if I remember you. It's been so long.

Thousands of posts are made on that forum, there is only one person monitoring it from EA. The Community Manager and then there are the forum people but they mostly just maintain the forum. Each forum has a CM, the Senior Mods do much of the work of the CM but they are not paid. Anyways, with that many posts and the fact that the CM is also an EA employee who has other responsibilities? They really don't have the time to read everything. It's why they rely so heavily on the mods and stuff.

@Lokisimsies I was probably on after you left. I started The Sims Freeplay right before Fire Monkey took the forums down and I have played TSTO almost a year. I started August/September of last year right before the Halloween update. I only go on TSTO forums to look for help with doing things in the game and read Josh's posts. I remember he got banned and I was a little sad because then the forum got boring. I really don't know Josh's past but he is funny and I do enjoy reading his posts. I don't really post on there. The only forum I actively post on is the one for The Sims 4. I only post on other forums when I am looking for the answer to a specific question.

How are people able to get the EA icon in front of their names if they aren't employees? Are they hacking because there is no way to do this in the settings? Isn't posting as an EA employee against the EULA? Why aren't these people banned? I know the heroes have their names in blue with no EA icon in front so these people who do this are not heroes. Do people also hack to become heroes?

@sodagod That is good information to know.

I could understand negativity on all forums at the very beginning of announcing The Sims 4 game. I was pretty shocked at the look of sims (especially the hair, it's still my sour point, but it's nothing which can't be repaired by some CC;)). Lately, It's nice to read some good things about the game, I can't wait to start making my own gardens(this is recently my favourite pass time in the sims game). I'm very optimistic about new cheat to make objects bigger :D.
To those who would like to test some of new cc hair in the future, I'm downloading demo now, soon I should made some rought concept of mine first cc, if your interested in cooperating with me please leave me message:).

@SleepyD2k I was already gone before the Halloween update. So, nope, we didn't run into one another.

How do they get the avatar? Well......after you've been there a month a bot goes through and upgrades everybody so they can have an avatar (I thought they had done away with that, kind of surprised that it's back). At that time, people being "cute" just made their own EA avatars and used those. You have to pay attention to the user name and the title to see if they are faking or not.

What the heck is a hero? That has to be new, it sounds kind of lame lol.

I just took a peek over there, didn't log in since I didn't want to be sucked back in. Looks like a good portion of the Sims3 people went there. They are going to be STUNNED if they do anything to attract the worst of the trolls. They thought it was bad at the sims3 forum *chuckles*.

They banned Josh for good? Wow....he must have really done something bad.

@Lokisimsies I am not talking about the avatar. Everyone has an EA avatar unless you change it in Answers HQ. It is an EA logo next to their name when they post. How do people do this if they are not hacking because this feature is not available in the settings menus? During the week there are usually three people on with the EA logo next to their username. Plus it says Community Manager under their names. It is a shame if someone is hacking EA Answers HQ just to pretend to be an EA staff member because they think it is cute.

A hero is a moderator. To become a hero, you have to help people on Answers HQ and get XP (experience points). Having a high amount of points also qualifies you for trips and gifts from EA.

I am posting on The Sims 4 forum on EA and it isn't that bad. It is a small amount of us on there and we usually don't reply to the troll posts. We just ignore them. Over here is better. I do hope EA forums brings the ignore button back. I miss it. I like this forum way better though.

No, Josh was not banned for good. He was banned for like a month. Last time I was on TSTO forum he was posting about the cost of items being too much.

@Cynel I hope the EP doesn't cost that much. Maybe it will be $29.99.

@sodagod Speaking of the cracked demo link, this is what people are saying about this website on EA's The Sims 4 forums:

Thanks for the link, but I don't think I'll be registering there. First thing I see when I checked the General Discussion is a thread telling people how to install a cracked version of the CAS demo. I don't support piracy, even something so fickle as a free demo. - TheGreenLion

Oh, yeah, I checked out that site too, and the 'how to' was at the top of the page and the very first thing I saw. Not even MTS will allow stuff like that.... -Cinebar

FYI ~ I wouldn't mention anything else about it here. Apparently you can edit your own post during the TS3 maintenance. I've seen some go back and delete their posts in that very naughty thread (regardless it's too late) mentioning the unmentionable. Their user accounts have now been flagged or their walls are blank on their my pages. For you own sake let's just drop the subject altogether. **** Please-do-not-promote-other-forums **** copy-content-here ****images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif - blunote00

If people are willing to risk it, that's their choice to make but it was a very bad idea to talk openly about it on the forums. Hopefully those people will now understand that.

That aside, the sims4forum.com is a decent place to hang out. - Mariefoxprice83

Basically, they can't link to or mention this website over there because it discusses a hack for the demo.
