<Cracked> The Sims 4 CAS Demo

Whilst i disagree with the way EA have handled the demo, it's not their fault if someone downloads a dodgy demo from the internet.

I know for a fact that at least two of those links have viruses. I also noticed that as soon as the news got out about the title of the "legit" one that several others popped up using the exact same title. I'm suspicious of those, why would they copy the title?

You are, for sure, risking a virus to try something out that is going to be available to all within 3 weeks anyways. However, if you simply can't wait (or if you want to test it out to see if it will work on your computer before spending the money on the game) then be smart about it. Run every single step from the link through the program through your virus scanner first.

I actually don't think so. I think EA made a massive misstep with this one. People who probably would have never done it, talked themselves into it because it was a "free" demo. How much of a leap is it for them to go from that to rationalizing away getting the game this way as well?

I think this game will wind up being one of the top pirated games of the year and EA only has themselves to blame for that because of the way they've mismanaged this demo release. If they hadn't been so hell-bent on playing stupid supply/demand games then people wouldn't have felt so desperate that they resorted to pirating.

Yes, people always have the free will to not do it but we are talking about addictions here. Let's face it, we are all addicted to this game otherwise why would we spend the time and money on it and chat on a forum about it?

I'm addicted to this game and I'm fine with that. We all have addictions. I consider this far healthier than being addicted to food, alcohol, or drugs. Plus it brings me so much enjoyment. I get so happy when I build something that looks just like the floor plan I found.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I've noticed you've been all up and thru this thread telling people to wait. Can I ask why you are so concerned about this? Them downloading the torrent has zero effect on you. I feel like you are trying to morally police people who are adults and can make their own decisions. Of course I'm not telling you stop what you're doing. But do realize that people will do what they want anyway and you may be wasting your words on them.

It's as simple as them not wanting to wait and why should they if it's already available to them for use? Like I said why do you care so much? You work for EA or something? But whatever carry-on with that.

EA is handling this demo thing all wrong. I ended up being suspended for 72 hours on the sims 3 forum, because I shared my account. I know it's my own fault and all.. But I just wanted to let the people who didn't get the demo be able to get a look at it.
They could've known someone would crack it. I mean doing a give-a-way for a free demo, seriously.

Most likely I will as the released version will be updated and will probably transition easier when the actual game is released.

This is the reason why DRM and required registering is used.
Anticipation is good life gets boring if all wants are immediatly satisfied.
I hope the servers wll not be affected before they are ready as this could delay the Demo for all those patiently waiting.
