What about cars?

It sure would be nice to include a nice selection of vehicles with this set, even if it's only really used as a skill builder for mechanic types and a driveway decor.

I guess that's the same as with The Sims 2 then, so maybe they'll add cars in a future EP?
I don't know, I always like having cars on my lot, just to show off or to really perfect the style and feel of a lot or household. I don't know.

If they're holding them back to prevent the kind of lag that we got in bridgeport, I'm not overly upset by it. It's just.. odd

I agree with you, SuperZino...I always liked being able to have a classic mustang (or some other model that is drool worthy) just parked in my driveway or garage.

I wonder if they would be able to add a subways system to the game later.

I'm pretty sure from what I've read that we aren't getting useable vehicles yet. The ones in the video are like the Tram, just decoration. I could be wrong though -shrugs-. Either way, I can take or leave it since this isn't open world like TS3.

You're correct, Lizziguin, there are no functioning cars, just cars as decorations that travel on the street. However, I read a bit of a workaround. Apparently there's a new cheat called magnification. One of the builders at Creators Camp said that she took a toy car and used the magnification cheat to make it full size so she could place it in her driveway and make it look like she had a car at her house.

That's what I was going to say when I saw this thread! At least people who really want them for aesthetic purposes can do that.

I'm really looking forward to playing with that magnification cheat. Someone said another camper magnified a dinosaur and when a Sim carried it around town, it looked like Godzilla.

OMG, yes!!! I'm definitely having giant dinos. I think there is a stuffed baby llama too

I think the stuffed baby llama is actually pretty big. One of the Campers said there were a few oversized stuffed animals available.

I hope that cars in expansions will be as good as cars were in The sims 2 which released with Nightlife!

Some one at Sims camp used the new increase sizing to make a child toy car real size to decorate their lot.

Yeah, we talked about that up thread a little bit. I LOVE the idea of the magnification cheat. Have no idea how practical it will end up being but I'm thinking it could be extremely useful. Maxis can provide a singe size of an object and we can resize it based on our needs. I guess they wouldn't be able to do that with things that have interactions but decorative objects would work well.
