I personally would skip on this. I like the apartment system from The Sims 3 better because it is easier to build custom apartments. There are already night clubs in the base game so you really didn't describe any new ones or how they would be different from the ones in the base game. I also like the driveways in The Sims 3 better because they can be placed anywhere on a lot. I don't have to build my lots to accommodate driveway placement. The only thing I would like is a city world but they could just release that as a store world and I would be fine.

Apartment system from TS2 AL is the only real and actual apartment system. If you cant insert multiple controlable families in the same lot, it is not apartment. Plus, in TheSims2 University life there was a code that allowed you to have as many floors are you wanted, that allowed you to create actual tall buildings...if your computer could handle it. And to me if cars are not interact-able and just telport in-out, then i have no need for them or garages at all.

That said, i actually like your idea.

I wouldn't mind seeing a mixture of apartments from TS3 and TS2. Both types seemed okay at suiting different types of neighbourhoods.

I think having the option of using bus, subway or train for travel would be neat, but I guess the train would only be necessary if there was a location of greater distance (like maybe when other towns are released)...something like that. It would be neat if we were able to interact with other passengers instead of just watch a loading screen at some point later in the game. Hmmm....maybe that will have to wait until TS10 or something :D

Trains could be used to mask loading times.

The apartment system in The Sims 2 is too restrictive building wise if you don't use building cheats. If you do use building cheats but don't use them correctly then you can screw up all the houses in your neighborhood. You actually have to use cheats to build a custom apartment. I don't consider The Sims 2 to have an actual apartment system because the game focused on placing shells rather than allowing players to create custom builds. The only benefit The Sims 2 apartments had over The Sims 3 apartments was that a player could place multiple families they play in one apartment building. This one feature is not enough to encourage me to switch out the benefits of The Sims 3 apartments for the ones in The Sims 2.

The Sims 3 apartment system is better. In The Sims 3 no cheats are necessary to build an apartment. The apartments in The Sims are more versatile with content from the other expansion packs. Although you still have to classify the lots as residential, you could create a combination of residential/community lots easier. For example, I could build an apartment above a night club if I have Late Nigh installed or I could build one with a coffee house inside if I have University. If I have the Savvy Seller's Collection, I could make an apartment above a business and have my Sims run it for money. The apartment system in The Sims 3 allows the player to be the apartment manager. I could build an apartment building (as residential), have my Sims buy the residential lot and add roommates. If I want the illusion of having more than one of my playable families living in an apartment complex, I could just put three lots close together, add similar apartment complexes on each lot, and designate it as an entire apartment complex.

As far as the cars go, with the new building system the trade off wouldn't be worth it to have cars back off of driveways. For cars to back off of driveways, the player would lose the ability to move the rooms/buildings they place on the lot anywhere because they would be restricted to the placement of the driveway. If they do allow players to place lots anywhere on the map later on, the placement of lots would be locked to roads rather than anywhere like we have in The Sims 3 to accommodate driveways. I personally like the ability to place driveways anywhere. it makes it easy to create parking lots or underground/above ground garages. We have the loading screens so it makes having cars in the game more of a decoration rather than something useful like in The Sims 3. The restrictions that driveways place on building would not entice me to purchase this expansion pack.

Nightclubs are already included in the base game. There really isn't a draw for me to purchase something that is included in the base game in an expansion pack. Especially an expansion pack that has been done three times already. The differences between the nightclubs you propose and the nightclubs in the base game should come in a free patch for all players because I doubt the change would be enough to warrant many to drop money on a feature that is in the already in the base game but it is just slightly improved.

TS3 has no apartments. What id has is a building that looks like an apartment but is just a small house in a tower surrounded by rabitholes. There is no "apartment system" in TS3. TS3 is full of "illusions" of things when it does not have the actual features. I already said that before and i will say again, in many ways TS3 was that , like a decoration piece, it was beutifull, but did not really work.Same thing for restaurants, grocery stores and shops.

Like it or not,Cheats are part of the game and Thesims2 does have an apartment system because it has actual gameplay developed for this, wich include what you call "Shelters" wich are the apartments that TS3 does not have.

And there are two types of Garages in TS2 one is the segment, that alone works like TS3 does and the car just pop on the road, and is around this one you build the actual "Garage". Altrough i dont recall you beign able to spin it in TS2, it is just a detail that could be edited for implementations in for posterior games . With MoveObjects you could place it anywhere.

The other type is the animated Driveway. That allows the animation of geting in and out of the garage. The problem here, is that TS3 does not have this piece at all.

The apartments in The Sims 3 came with University Life. If you don't have University Life, then you wouldn't have apartments in the game.

The apartments that came with Roaring Heights are not real apartments and EA specified this. You can make some of the residential lots into real apartments by changing the lot type to apartment if you have University Life. I don't know which residential lots would work as apartments because I don't have Roaring Heights.

I really love the idea of transit systems. It'd be exciting to see buses implemented, and maybe even a metro/subway like system. Especially if there were underground stations like in the DC metro, or stations rooted above like in the NYC subway.

I would be buy an EP so fast if it included apartments and rowhouses (including rentals even!), a Retail career track, and public transit! And a world to add that doesn't have to include suburbs at all -- it could have just downtown/urban-type neighbourhoods. (I really want rowhouses where I can have Sim households in different units in a row. I'm sure it could be done as narrow lots somehow, or a system that lets me have two households in one lot if it's a certain building type.)
