This feed has been dead for quite some time so I thought I'd post something. What's everyone up to?
I became frustrated with my most recent legacy and in an fit of insanity I deleted them. Killed them all! Sad but true. But there were so many problems I just couldn't deal any more. Here was a summary:
Madeline Banks had aspirations to be rich and famous. She moved to Hidden Springs and soon after married Bert Alto. She was unaware that he was a thug within the local crime syndicate who would later become a Master Thief. She asked no questions so he told no lies. She busied herself with their five kids (Whitney, Bronwyn, Myles, Rhys, and Gwendolyn) and with becoming the very successful CEO of a Mega-Corporation. It was like Dallas, only not in Texas.
Whitney became a Hit Movie Composer while married to her college sweetheart (Brian Petersen, a Firefighter Superhero) and they had three kids: Gunnar and surprise twins Annika and Anneliese. Gunnar married his college sweetheart, Sheri and they built a luxury waterfront lodge across town near the stadium. Gunnar became an Astronaut and Sheri, his college love, was working on a Perfect Garden. They adopted a retriever and had a baby girl (whose name escapes me) who wanted to grow up to be a Creature-Robot Cross Breeder but sadly never made it out of elementary school. Annika aspired to be a Rock Star and Anneliese was a struggling Visionary. Every time Annika and Annelise tried to go to college the game crashed. Annelise, being a photographer, needed to travel abroad to take pics but the game crashed every time she tried to travel.
Bronwyn married her college sweetheart (stay-at-home dad and Illustrious Author Russell Sorensen), became the Leader of the Free World and they had three kids, too (Maya, Kiersten and Axel). The kids never made it out of their teens. Too bad because being in politics meant Mama threw some awesome parties!
Myles opted out of college and became a Celebrated Five-Star Chef. He married Willow Something-Or-Other and lived just down the block from his nephew Gunnar. He had one son, Linden, and another baby on the way when they were deleted.
Rhys, the one random ginger in a family of brunettes, dated casually but never married. He became a successful Forensics Specialist but opted to stay at home to care for the aging Madeline and Bert, and to make sure the family cats (Starsky and Hutch) were fed. The house is far too large for them now and the lonely echos haunted poor Rhys. Rhys dreamed of a smaller home with less upkeep but Madeline insisted on remaining in the gated waterfront mansion to keep up appearances. Rhys was unable to abandon his beloved Madeline, especially since devoted Papa Bert had one foot in the grave and it was only a matter of time. Madeline was aging but still hard at work even though she was eligible to retire but she was not a quitter!
Last but not least, we have young Gwendolyn. Gwen became a World-Renowned surgeon despite the glitch that made her stop receiving the medical journals she was required to read. Like her nieces, she was also denied returning to college after two terms due to a game crash and was never able to complete her medical degree. She traveled once and glitches halted that, too. I will say with Gwendolyn that the travel crashes and the medical journal glitch apparently happened after she moved houses. Moving her back to the original house failed to solve the problem as did reverting to an earlier saved version of her game. She even tried moving out of Hidden Springs to the bright lights of Bridgeport but that also crashed. So she was stuck as a surgeon with no degree (haha), no ability to move, and no ability to travel. Sadly, she was the straw that broke this camel's back and the reason I deleted my Alto Legacy. If one can even consider it a legacy, what with only three generations.
Another frustrating note: I messed up when I two of the families into their own homes after moving out from the 'rents., resulting in the loss of all previously established relationships. This created awkward holidays and parties as well as some interesting situations where siblings were attracted to one another, flirted, and attempted to date. I also had naughty brothers-in-law who tried to date their wife's sisters. Bad Sims!
So...between glitches, crashes and incest...I killed them all! Trying to start out a few new peeps but nobody grabbing me yet to be the matriarch or patriarch of my newest legacy attempt. Feel free to comment, criticize, or offer help with the glitches. Thanks for stopping by!
