We know we will be getting NPCs (like maids, gardeners, etc) but I'm thinking if there's a 'good' trait or something similar for one's own sims. That your sim could hop down to the local city hall or whatever and deliver food to the NPCs (which I assume will be homeless)

Another idea in a PETS EP about having the option of training a service dog or other animal? That way people don't have to see physical disabled Sims themselves but for some people (like me) that the world isn't black&white

There is a good trait, but we don't have any word on the service animal

*facepalm* Service animals are a separate idea from the other idea. Because it is too controversy to actually have disabled sims in the game the next base thing would be that your Sim could be a puppy trainer for service animal (aka service dog) for disabled Sims that we don't see in the world of SimNation world. So it would kind of imply that there are disabled Sims just we don't see them in the Sims' world. Which would be kind of like a co-promise between the two camps those who want to see disabled sims (myself included) and those who don't.

As for the first idea-I wasn't talking about the trait itself-it just those so-called homeless characters-like Maids, repair people, etc need to have a place to go to after they leave your Sims' house and they need to eat too. So why not have a soup kitchen/food bank for them and a shelter-since technically they're homeless, unlike the townies who do have homes-where your good trait sim could volunteer at. Heck if volunteering was a requirement for high school grad-even a high school student could volunteer at the soup kitchen/food bank

Oh, I get it now. That's a good idea, but for a different game. I think that's a little to "real-life" for some people, the Sims is a light hearted game that really doesn't get into things like that. Don't get me wrong it's a good idea for a Sims like game, but not for the Sims it's self.

I don't think there is such a thing as "homeless Sims," especially in EA's eyes. So I don't think they'd add a soup kitchen/food bank. Again, too much realism for the game. The Sims is supposed to be a happy game, and homelessness would ruin it.

However, I could totally see a dog working as a "helper". Sims can train their dog and when the dog goes to work, it could go into people's homes or anywhere with a Sim and be their assistant and friend. Like an Elderly Sim, she will exit her house with a cane/walker and the Helper Dog will run out and pick up the newspaper for her. Or if she drops a plate of food, the Helper Dog can help clean it up, whether by eating it or grabbing the plate with its mouth and dropping it in the trash/dishwasher. Little tasks like that. :)

@Fiery how do you explain for instance in the Sims 3 that . It's ironic how people say Maxis doesn't want any homeless Sims but yet at the same time technically do have homeless Sims (tattoo artist, bartender, bouncer or paparazzi from Late Night according to the Sims 3 code they're homeless sims). It's about as ironic as allowing in the Sims 3 for a YA (18-30) to have a kid (but not a relation like a sister) that is at least in Gr.3 (aka 8 years old) it would mean (I apologize for this next bit)-that the YA would need to have had her as a 10-year old when Maxis is so strict about not talking about teens acting doing adultish stuff which results in babies being made. It's also ironic the fact they don't want the game to be 'too realistic' but yet they're including stuff like pregnancy test and power being shut off?

@Fiery some service dogs in real life to do stuff like what you have suggest it. I would love for disabled sims to be in the game. But it's a huge camp there are some disabled (or know someone who is) and want disablties in the game vs. the other half which doesn't want it the game. I just thought having the option of something that is called a "Puppy family" for sims to do when they are not at work or school would be a way to co-promise the two camps. Once then dog is 'adult'-the dog will go off to some disabled sim somewhere else in SimNation world which we don't get to see. I would like to see a service dog in action but some people would not want to see it in a game for much the same reason as the supposed homeless business.

There are houses in the game that you can't select/edit. Maybe the NPCs live there :)

Ya i don't see the " homeless Sims" working out. Sims has always been a way to escape reality and its problems. Not to force it down our throats while playing

*facepalm* Ok it would take place in building that already exists-like a restaurant if they existed which last time I checked they didn't. I'm not saying the homeless needs homes it just they do need to eat right hence the soup kitchen.

What's even the need for that? They only come out once called they disappear when the job is over unless our sim talks to them. They don't even have needs and they shouldn't. What if your sims tv break and you call the repairman " Sorry i can't come now i haven't ate" What if he comes and dies from not eating? your sim is stuck in sad mode for the next 4 sim days

I think the NPC soup kitchen sounds funny.
They could have a huge sign that says:

    PLEASE HELP FEED OUR PLUMBERS.
