Family Trees?

Hey guys, so I know it's awkward to start a thread just with the title of "Family Trees" however if you ask me a family tree is one of the most important features to me regarding the simulation since you can get that kind of nostalgia from playing the first generation when you are currently trying to build up the lives of the 4th generation.
But now I heard this: Sims 4 does NOT contain family trees what-so-ever! I am sooooooooo frustrated. I wish somebody else could check on it? Is it really official? :O

What are your thoughts on it, and was the family for your gameplay also that important?

Makes me wonder, because one of the traits is about having a good family-tree

I never really made large families, but would still love a source for this, like Zef said.

That be weird if there was no family tree system at all (incest anybody?), I don't know about you, but that's just weird.

The source is that the campers could not find it while playing. That doesn't necessarily mean it isn't there. I don't think they were allowed to play a full game and I also don't think they played the most recent version. I think for whatever reason (poor marketing comes to mind), they have decided to not let anybody see the actual game that will be released.

There is also the possibility that it's not located where it should be and they just didn't know where to look. If one of the aspirations pertains to having a family tree? Then how would you ever fulfill that if there wasn't one?

I mean, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that this is a broken aspiration but I think they just couldn't find it.

Plus, the CAS can associate Simmers as siblings, which would solve the "incest"-problem.

What about cousins? Is the limit only to siblings?

I was worried about there being no family tree to look at in the game for awhile, but now I'm thinking that it would just be too weird for them to get rid of it. It could just be one of those finishing touches that people didn't get to see. And I'd be even more surprised if the game didn't keep track of family relationships even without a chart feature.
If worse comes to worse and there really isn't one, there's always that echo website. I may make one of those for my blog anyways. I enjoy looking at other people's.

We cannot know by now, but we'll assume family tree is in the game, untill anything is announced. Would be pure insanity if they left such feature out.

I agree with a few of the other posters. I believe it was on SimsVIP that a camper was asked if she had seen a family tree to which she replied she didn't see one. However, I have watched quite a few vids now and none of them even mention players looking for a tree. Most people didn't even start families so there were no decedents to view for the sims they created. Concentration was more on gameplay, CAS, and building and not necessarily on the details. We'll have to just wait and see because for now that's just a rumor.

I was thinking more about it, and if there isn't a family tree, I suppose it's not the worst thing. With there not being any story progression in the neighborhood (other than aging) the only thing that would be contributing to your tree is your active household. So that should be easy enough to keep track of for now.
Unless you play rotation style.

No problem! I'm thinking I'll brush up on how to use it. There are a few others, but this is the only free one I've seen that looks nicer than just using excel.

Aw, that's too bad. Such a strange feature to leave out. I do agree that they never went as wide as I wanted them to though.

Oh dayum ... One of my absolute favourite features is now left out. I always loved looking back at them and watch the family tree grow Why leaving it out?

This is really weird. It doesn't matter whether people will use it or not. It should be in the base game.
