So, I like build mode. It's a change, and I'm still getting used to it. There is, however, one thing I absolutely HATE about it.

Say you're building like you would in the sims 3, constantly deleting walls and redoing areas to make them perfect or to fit in things that need to be there. Sims 4 seems to have this feature to add in... blank space? Rooms without walls or fences. It's in the walls section in build mode if you can't find it. Well it sucks, to put it plainly. I'm so used to sims 3's method of just plopping down flooring but now they've made it more complicated where I HAVE to put down a room before I can add flooring (says it can't if I don't). It only seems to happen on second/third stories or foundations.

Now, I don't mind this usually but it makes building more stressful for me when I have these broken up "rooms". I have to put walls around some "room" flooring to make the stairway opening bigger because I can't delete them normally. Blagh!

Does anyone else hate this works? Any work arounds? I love building but this just makes it so unenjoyable to me. Also, I understand it might be a little difficult to understand from how I described it...

I haven't built a house yet in TS4 (since I am more of a storyteller), but I know my cousin who played The Sims would had been frustrated too.

When he built, he laid down the floor first too to get an idea of how big the area would be I guess. Well each builder has their way. I am more of a walls first type of person who always forget about foundation when I build.

I had to edit my home though and add some rooms and a new roof, instead of it being auto roofing, so lots of stuff is just new. We'll get used to it.

Yes, I have noticed that floor tile problem. I just build walls then delete them, its annoying but I cant find another solution. Building in TS4 takes a lot of getting used too!!

Do you know how to rotate objects with the mouse ? I might just be really dumb and can't figure it out haha . The only way I can figure out how to rotate stuff is using < >

I also find it really hard to decorate without the create a style, hopefully things will get easier once we figure everything out!

I just hold down with the left mouse button before placing an object, or when picking it up, and move it whichever direction I want.

But yeah, it'll just take getting used to. Otherwise I love build mode, very easy to create something that looks visually appealing.
