I can't install the game *sob*

I got TS4 yesterday , and I tried to install it. After a thing came up saying blah blah blah , press continue , it took me to the Origin login. I typed in my E-mail and password , but it said I have to be online to login to Origin for the firs time.

I've logged into Origin before , I don't know what to do now! oh ,I wish we didn't have to install through stupid Origin! I JUST WANT TO PLAY!

Yeah you have to be online Origin for just a brief moment to put in your product key. Getting on Origin is completely optional for participating in the sims community (Gallery, DLC & Game Updates) afterwards.

Do you think going to the website and entering my product code there will work? I thought of doing this before , but i'm scared if I use the code once on Origin i'll never be able to use it again ,and if this doesn't work , what will I do?

I don't think it works on the website, just the Origin launcher. Is there something prohibiting you from redeeming your product key on Origin?

You won't lose the game as long as you keep your Origin (and email) account protected and secured. I installed TS4 Premium Edition (had to put in my product key in Origin) and now I don't even have to use the CDs to play, I just click TS4 and it starts.

It says NOW that online mode is unavailable. This sucks.

Um , some weird shit is going down.

OK , I typed in a bogus Email and password in the Origin thing , and it said the same thing:

'you must be online to log in for the first time'

I think something might be wrong with my account.

Ugh, sorry you're having issues. Definitely sounds like something weird going on with your Origin or Origin account. Have you checked to see if your Origin Launcher is up to date? It should automatically update upon startup, but I think that might be after the log-in thing.

On my laptop (4 yrs old) occasionally I would have to delete origin and re download it to get it to work. It would just get stuck. After I would install it would be fine again. This would happen after origin updates sometimes and ts3 updates sometimes. You can do it, it won't hurt anything as long as you know the program to delete.

also I had to close my virus program to install and get origin to work. try that.

Try uninstalling/re-installing Origin (it won't delete your games, I promise, i have done it many times).

Other things to note:
Do you have antivirus on your computer (more specifically one with a firewall?) If so try disabling the firewall or the antivirus altogether as it may be blocking Origin from accessing your network.

If you are running Windows XP try disabling the built in firewall there as well (Same goes for windows defender in Vista and Windows 7). <--- Last ditch effort, usually you'd never have a problem with these and they would ask you if you want to grant permission to an application (at least they are supposed to).

I had the same problem. I did this Under tools>internet options>advanced>reset and it worked. I tried a lot of suggestions but this one worked. Hope this helps.

I hate origin so much it does my head in I wish it could be like TS2 were origin is not needed
