Hi, I've been thinking about using Bootcamp to play the Sims 4 on my Macbook pro. :>
Do you think I would be able to run it okay, like what kind of performance do you think I'd get? Heres a screenshot of about my mac

You've got the mid 2014 macbook pro with intel iris graphics and retina display which is a beast of a machine :) . Theres a more expensive 15" which comes with an nVidia graphics chipset too, I don't know if yours is the one with or without as macs with intel+nvidia graphics have a neat feature allowing it to automatically switch between the two graphics chipsets depending on what your doing. It uses Intel Iris Graphics when your not doing anything intensive, but as soon as you load a game or do video editing, it'll switch to the nvidia chipset on the fly :D

Regardless even with the Intel Iris graphics alone your Macbook Pro will have NO issues running the Sims 4 at all on ultra at a very respectable framerate too!

The only thing that concerns me is how Windows handles retina scaling. I've never had a retina display mac before or used one, but I do know it can act funny with things like games. You may not want to run The Sims 4 at your macs native resolution as its pretty damn high, but if you can run it at 1080p and have it scaled then you should be fine :)

I say go for it! Make sure you install the latest version of Windows 8 though (Windows 8.1) as you will be less likely to run into any scaling issues.

Yayy! Thank you for your help
Also do you think a 80-90 gb partition would be good enough?

Hey, so i downloaded an ISO image onto my friends windows computer and put it on a USB Stick because I could not download an ISO image onto my Macbook Air as it told me You cannot open this application because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on OS X. And so I put the USB onto my computer and got the ISO image off of that but I wasn't really sure what it was I was supposed to use as the ISO image. I tried the documents and they told me Boot Camp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform. Please use a ISO file for 64-bit Windows installation. So I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do now? Can anybody help me!? I really badly want the Sims 4 and I feel right now this is the only way without spending more money than needed...also does anybody know when the Sims 4 will be available for Mac as my friend has heard rumours online that it will be released sort of soon...?

Hi I'm back haha! Everything is running great, but when I'm playing my macbook pro gets really hot after a few minutes then later the fans come on. Is that bad?
I used an old usb cooling pad that I've had and it seemed like it was a little less hot than playing without it. I'm scared to play for more than an hour because it get so hot, I don't know if I'm damaging something. :<

It's basically a cd/dvd image, but virtually stored on the computer :) you can burn it onto physical discs or you can use something like magiciso to boot into it as if it was a cd that was put in your system :)

Hey so I am wanting to use Bootcamp to be able to get Windows onto my Macbook Air and then hopefully be able to play The Sims 4 but I cannot find a way to download a Windows ISO image anywhere without it telling me that it won't download because I am using OS X..?! Is there anywhere I can find a Windows ISO image that I will be able to download onto my Mac and then set up Bootcamp?

@tgorrey: As someone who has played Metro Last Light in one run on my Macbook Pro '15 (late 2013 with Nvidia) I can tell you that you don't have to worry. Your Macbook may gets hot, but it can handle it pretty well. Just make sure it can "breath".

@Chris: You probably don't know a solution either (not even Apple does) but I can't install Windows over bootcamp because ever time I try, no matter if Win7, 8 or 8.1. No matter if bought version or not so bought or how I try it, as soon as it starts I just can't use my mouse (trackpad or one I plug in) or keyboard. There is just no way to install it. I´m trying since Oktober last year....

    Hi!

I have a question.. Might be stupid, but I'm really not that much of a computer-expert.. How do I get a windows ISO? I am looking online but all I see is DVD's or EXE files? :(
