Lol, well this is pretty much not a touchy subject really. But in a bunch of youtube videos I found that the youtuber's that played the Sims and Sims 4 would say "I'm to lazy to repair it" OUT from the back burner like this was from back to back in videos, Lol. I know the game is easy an such to get by without repair, but playing it "true" to the core with no cheats an to almost little money you would want your sim to be self sufficient in "handiness" or at least one, I feel so much it is BOUND to happen or not, Lol. I have did the repair interaction in the Sims 4, an it doesn't take that long really, even with the fast button, you get done quick an really no time lost in any way. But this was a buggy thing with me, cause I'm seeing a youtube player right now just letting the shower water and sink water just spew EVERYWHERE, flooding the bathroom, it would be funny if it went in the living room, then they WOULD have to repair it with little to no money or try to sell something to get AROUND it. I feel people are afraid of the interaction so MUCH. Lol. But those are my thoughts, what about yours??? Do you not repair all the time, an never acquire the handiness skill?? Or do you like being handy and self sufficient?? An can you feel fine watching a playthrough of someone being to lazy to fix anything while everything is broken for 4 sim hours(made up this example), Lol. I feel when you get better at the handy skill it won't take long, cause it doesn't take long with the fast button but probably leveled up it will take minimal an you wouldn't have to fast forward, Lol.

At first I was making my sim repair all of the things that broke but then it seemed like there was something broken every day, even after upgrading to nicer things. It became very tedious because he had a lot of other skills he needed to be building so I started just replacing the broken items.

I am trying to play a game without cheats, and on that one I make my person repair everything, and upgrade it. As he has more money to spare, I will upgrade to better appliances, etc.

Yeah I can relate to you. I guess it is just that it is funny how people don't repair on their 1st broken thing. Its like a special routine they did with the other sim games, saying that it won't change, while going into the next one. But I respect everyones decisions though. Thanks again for replying, cause I did the exact same thing as you when I played the game late an was REALLY tired, Lol.

Thats awesome, same here kind of. I do use the money cheat but only for building the house. I use motherlode an have to much saved over an I also sometimes don't like using rosebud cause I have to keep typing an such, Lol. I wish a cheat would come out in a update like the no highlight one, where you can type the exact lowest or highest amount you want/need Lol. Thanks for replying btw.

I replace broken items if my sim already has enough money to cover bills in advance. I don't buy much anyway outside of food and bills.

Repairing things only for them to break after 2 uses... I'd appreciate it if we had a "never/hardly break (unyielding)" upgrade option that takes double the time it takes to upgrade other things.

I am not even cheating for that. I am gonna raise money, then move out of the starter home and build a new one.

Lol I always used to replace too but then I found myself always poor. Then I started to upgrade my items but they broke all the time still.

Then I wouldn't have time to fix an item, so I would end up replacing the upgraded item.

I just saved up enough money to get myself basically a new bathroom--toilet, bathtub, sink...well they are more expensive ones, so hopefully they'll break less.

I think they have a reliability rating on them, be sure to check that out (listed underneath energy, hunger, bladder, etc. and moodlet buffs/debuffs).

Things with a low reliability rating obviously break more than those with higher ratings.

They do have reliability ratings. The most expensive ones are even unbreakable, depending on the type of object. (Which is what my house has for otherwise breakable items.) I was sick or replacing and repairing 5 different objects a day.

I didn't use cheats for the Sims 3 for the first 2 years.
I haven't used cheats for my household yet.

Don't get me wrong, cheats are incredibly fun. In sims 3 I eventually got all kinds of mods, including Nraas Master Cotroller (which I was obsessed with) and I was literally not going 3 sim seconds without using a cheats or Mods that functioned the same way. But that isn't playing the game for me, really. Genuinely playing the game without cheating is the funnest for me.

I've been repairing all of my objects, and they don't seem to break all that often. I don't mind when things break, it only takes a few second to repair them anyways. Maybe my sims are just lucky they don't have things break too often.

Not so much laziness, I just didn't want my sims to spend every minute trying to repair something as it seems like something is always broken. It's kind of ridiculous. The house my sims live in is huge because I have many sims living in that house, so you can imagine how much stuff that they need to fixed and how often.

Yeah, I find that the appliances in Sims 4 keep breaking, even the more expensive and supposedly "reliable" ones. This is become annoying and really motivates me to cheat to get money so I can just buy new stuff when it breaks...

I got the mod that makes stuff break less easily. That creator said she found that objects were set to break 67% of the time! Way too much. Get it here: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=535156
Anyway I tend to have my sim repair stuff a lot now these days. She has upgraded a lot of stuff now so stuff hardly breaks at all.

I kept paying to repair things but I am not using any money cheats so my sims funds diminished pretty fast so I had to go back to manual labor haha.

My family makes 10k+ a day right now with just the mom and dad so money is no issue. XD But I still like to repair stuff. But, they are saving up for a house I downloaded from the gallery that costs 800k so I guess it's a good thing I have them repair stuff and clean things by themselves. :hungover:

Didn't mean to post twice lol, tried to edit my post but pressed "Reply" instead. I'm dumb. :jimlad:

I kinda wish they'd bring back the repairman :/ I'm determined to avoid cheats for now. I moved my sims couple into a small and cheap house, bought the most basic and cheap things I could for them to get by and skill up the necessary skills. But because everything keeps breaking, maybe every other sim day at least 1-2 things break, as soon as they get back from work, they repair, eat and want to go to bed! It's almost impossible for them to do the things they need to do, like work tasks and skill ups.

The base breaking rate for objects is 67% as far as I now, which is high, and made worse if you have several sims using cheap objects. My advice to you is level one of your sims handiness skill so they can upgrade the objects, or hurry and make enough money to replace them with better objects. My sim lived alone so things didnt break as often, but she did creative fields of work so she made a lot of money and was able to replace everything pretty quick.

My families are quite lazy about repairs... they can afford the good stuff. You don't have to use cheats for good money, just shuffle households in Manage :p
in about 15 minutes you can move a pile of 1-member households through your estate, and promptly into ghetto hovels. 20k each, and they seem happy to leave you with their life savings as you hustle teh 8th sim into a tiny lot somewhere (or even off-world). My sims make Landgraabs look like Sandcraabs :)

It's good to be the king.

I don't use the codes at all The Sims 4 in the game :) I had codes for a major consumer of TS3 game , and made the game really boring sometimes :wtf:

It's an, however, the GAME and the fact that the more you play, the more skilled you become. The first is heavy when everything is broken and sim have time to do anything, but maneuvering through and finding out you get your game to work. The best thing is to keep the 3-4 sims in the family, according to my experience ;)

My video in Finnish .. like this
some usual day for my Sims life :)

Remember dear friend of The Sims, The Sims is a game and like all games, the more you play the more skilled you become
