We have two so far, but what does this mean for other worlds in future expansions/ the TS4 store? The two we've got so far seem to have a couple of the same venues, like the gym and the library and whatnot (I'd have to check in game again and see which ones as I can't recall of the top of my head). Also, considering we can travel between worlds in much the same way we travel between lots, do you think it's really necessary for EA to have duplicate venues in each one? (I'll give them that there isn't a whole lot of stuff in the base game so maybe that's why they did it to start, so that's why we have dupes now to fill space) Do you think they'll add new venues in future worlds instead of some of the defaults in future worlds (so not every town has a gym or a library but each one has new venues exclusive to that expansion) or along with them to keep with that world's theme?

I think that we will get new venues based on the expansion packs that come out. Personally the only thing that I want to see duplicated in each world is the big park because I like the idea of communities having parks, but I don't think that every world needs a night club, museum, and library... especially with the worlds being so small. Give it some variety or it'll get boring.

I'm seeing one of the twit, or maybe in the asksimguru in the main forum, I forget, that the world can be expanded, so there might be a new world that is a lot bigger than what we have now,

I hope future worlds will be made bigger, I do like a lot of Sim households to control.

I think there probably should be some sort of gym made for every world, only due to sims living in small houses or without much simoleons can still keep fit by using large and expensive gym equipment for free :). If you don't use gyms just replace it with something else, but I would like Maxis made gyms themed to each world so I don't have to go find one.

For worlds I would like to see:
    a city,
    seaside,
and a country one, with farm type buildings and decorations etc.
Alpine village, with cute little cottages and and ski slopes.

As for venues it would be good if they could add:
    Amusement park (rides, sideshows)
    Restaurant
Shopping mall. (I know this redundant because of CAS and the ability to purchase everything at home) it would be fun to go to a hair/beauty salon, deli/grocery store, clothing store, get something to eat at a food court etc.

Hmmm, can't think of anything else right now.

Considering that the Towns in TS4 seen to be inspired in the towns of Thesims2 (WillowCreek - PleasantView, OasisSprings - StrangeTown) i do expect that the next world will be inspired in VeronaVille and if the rumors of Seasons EP are true, then i think it will be cool to see those medieval-like houses covered in snow.

And yes, i would like more space too, and i am also waiting for some CAW.

I think they'll expand them like they did in Sims 1, which would be really great.

Wow Meline, I don't even remember that happening on the Sims 1. Good to know.

Does anyone know if it would it be possible for them to make each individual neighbourhood like a mini open world? So, no loading between lots just in that small group of 5 or so houses? Or would that be impossible because of the way that is has already been set up?

When the Sims 1 first came out, this was the world:

After the Unleashed expansion, it became this:

    They basically tripled the area.
Seeing as they're taking quite a lot from Sims 1 this time around, I really really think that over the years (and over multiple expansions) we'll either see more area's added, or they will just add completely new worlds with new buildings which would also be good, since we can travel between worlds now!

As far as worlds go, I have complete faith in these guys.
And some areas are 'open world' so to speak. If you, for example, visit the gym, you can walk all over the area behind it. Same goes for the houses, you can wander about freely in an area of about 2-3 lots. It's just that when you want to actually visit the houses, you need to go through a loading screen.
Personally, I much prefer this over waiting for a full minute until my laptop manages to load all the furniture in a house :p

I may have to dust off TS1 after seeing those pics, for nostalgic purposes :)

I thought it wouldn't take that much longer to load maybe 5 houses - but you are right, if the houses have a lot of furniture etc, and then the Sims themselves, it would probably take a while.

I am not a Sims 3 fan (played it - hated it), so not having a full open world is not bothering me as much as it is some people. I basically went from TS2 to TS4, so I am quite used to loading screens to get anywhere. Lol.

They could expand it or simply add subhoods, or in TS4 case (since all hoods are inter-conected like subhoods) simply add more neighborhoods, even more when each neighborhood is not a complete town, but only "part" of one big town, similar concept to that of Thesims2, if they gave us a CAW tool, we could create new hoods with the same physical features of the current ones and easily intrerpret it as an extension, a subhood.

That's pretty crazy! Personally I started (formally) with TS3 in 2011 or so, then I started TS2 when they gave away the ultimate collection for free. My best friend had TS1 (I even bought her an expansion one year for her birthday because I knew she was playing it) but I never really owned it myself so I didn't play it much. That this level of expansion was something that they did at all surprises me

I was honestly very displeased with the lack of worlds and their customization. I hope they push out more packed and useful ones soon.

The good news is I'm noticing I'm able to go in and muck about with public venues, I remember hearing some time ago that we couldn't do that so I never really tested that out until now...
