I got the thinking, I remember the Sims Online back in the early 2000's. It didn't go so well, many thought it was too early and the internet was still dial up. Now that the MMO games are big could the new Sims implement this once again?

I would like them to take this approach carefully if they do go about it. Have it be optional and subscription free with a small open world being on a range of servers. These places can be meet up places for online friends that you can go to in their "world" as well as to yours by invitation or a group list. Or even have a few exclusive places on the server provided by Maxis and EA that are night clubs, parks, Malls and etc.

    These places can be like:

    Downtown plaza...

    Sim City Pier...

    maybe for Expansions

Airport Terminal.... From these you can go with friend's Sims on Vacations to Resorts they built in their "world" and vice-versa or go to exclusive Maxis and EA provided vacation content together.

As far as cost of server maintenance the Maxis can implement a currency or a Gem system that, us, as players can buy with real money for these Gems and we could buy Maxis and EA content to access many aesthetic items such as, Luxury Cars, Shopping Merchandise, some exotic pets, vacationing activities and even building improvements to help us build up on our homes and personal Sim world to show off to our friends.

    What do you guys think?

I would like this, but if they include this in the base game, I would definitely want an offline option, or they could put it off in a separate game or expansion.

I really hope they do have the Offline option, I read and run across many people who do not like how Maxis and EA have made Simcity (2013) an Always online game.

I do believe they confirmed an offline only game for TS4 but that doesn't mean they can't do online things with expansions or something else completely.

I loved The Sims Online! I definitely like the idea of being able to have another Sims MMO, but I really DO NOT want the whole game to require a connection to run. It would be fantastic if it could be an expansion, like a certain city added, and when you play a family in that city, it is part of the MMO.

I love the idea of just a city being online, and from choosing that city you could chose your server (there would have to be lots of servers so there wouldn't be any problems like SC.

I think I like the idea of TS4 being able to be online, as long as it's optional. I'm not sure how much I'd like some extra content given by purchasing gems/in game currency, though. As long as that system doesn't affect the main gameplay too much, or block out a lot of the game's features, I think I'd be okay with it. ^^"

I really like this idea. I love MMOs. I'd like it if it was in-game in TS4 but like others said, there should be an offline option as well. I remember looking back at my TS1 cover and it said something about the Sims Online and I went on the site, but I discovered it was shutdown.

    I missed out on that. ;- ;

I hope they do include something like that in TS4 though.

It said nothing about it because it was a separate game, not an expansion kind of like how TSM is.

That would be a goood idea, but only as a SEPERATE component, defenetly not wanting it to be required, especially after the Sim City flop

I think it would be good as long as it was optional and didn't interfere with offline play. I personally wouldn't find a use for it but I understand others are far more social players than myself and they would enjoy it.

This would be great as long as they don't focus too much on it. We don't want the sims turning into habbo hotel..
On the other hand with next gen consoles taking interest in mmo's this may influence ea to take the sims 4 to ps4 and Xbox 1. What do you think?

i got simcity and I really enjoy that how it works with the multiplayer like a public or private region. I wish sims 4 can be like that if they decide to bring an online option to it.

I do not know about sharing my house with somebody tho. I do not mind being in the same world with somebody else and lets say the lots are divided or something so someone cannot take up all the space in that world.

i like sims single player but it does get kinda boring.

I disagree with my whole being a human, i dont want sims 4 to be ANYTHING like sim city, sim city was an absolute train wreck and sorry excuse of a published game.

i do not agree with the always online but I was speaking about how the multiplayer was done. that was stupid about how you gotta be online even in single player.

i honestly found it better than the other simcitys but they were also old games too.

Find the new sim city vastly worse there are so many bugs in it its been months they should be fixed by now but they aren't the only thing the new one has going is the better graphics thats it.
