Sims 4 Build: Tips & Tricks

In this blog post, I will share some tips and tricks for building in The Sims 4,
as well as some useful cheats that can make your building experience easier and more enjoyable.

ROOMS
One of the first things you need to know about building in The Sims 4 is how rooms work.
Rooms are the basic units of building in this game, and they are defined by either a floor or a complete enclosure of walls.
You can create rooms by using the Walls and Empty Rooms tool in Build Mode, which allows you to draw walls or place pre-made rooms on your lot. You can also use the Styled Rooms tool to browse and place rooms that are already decorated and furnished according to different themes and styles.

Rooms have some advantages over previous games, such as automatically adding ceilings and floors, and allowing you to move, resize, copy, and delete them as a whole. You can also adjust the height of walls and roofs for each room individually, giving you more flexibility and variety in your designs. If you remove a floor or a wall from a room, it might lose its status as a room and affect the lighting, roofing, and flooring of your build. To avoid this, you can use the Room Tool to manually define or redefine a room by dragging a yellow outline around the area you want to be a room.

CHEATS
Another important aspect of building in The Sims 4 is using cheats. Cheats are codes that you can type in the cheat console (Ctrl + Shift + C) to enable or disable certain features or functions in the game. Cheats can help you overcome some limitations or difficulties in building, such as unlocking hidden objects, placing objects without restrictions, changing the weather or time of day, and more. However, cheats can also cause glitches or errors in your game, so use them at your own risk and save your game before trying them.

Some of the most useful cheats for building in The Sims 4 are:

- bb.enablefreebuild:
This cheat allows you to use build and buy mode on locked lots, such as the hospital, police station, science lab, dorms, magic HQ, etc. You can edit these lots as you wish, but be careful not to delete or move essential objects or rooms that are needed for gameplay.
- bb.moveobjects:
This cheat allows you to place objects anywhere on your lot, without being limited by grid lines or collision boxes. You can also use the 9 and 0 keys to raise or lower objects vertically, and the Alt key to rotate objects freely. This cheat is great for creating custom layouts, cluttering, landscaping, and more.
- bb.showhiddenobjects:
This cheat allows you to access hidden objects that are normally not available in buy mode, such as collectibles, debug items, career rewards, etc. You can find these objects by typing "debug" in the search bar of buy mode.
- bb.showliveeditobjects:
This cheat allows you to access more hidden objects that are used for world decoration, such as rocks, trees, plants, signs, etc. You can find these objects by typing "liveeditobjects" in the search bar of buy mode.
- bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement: This cheat allows you to unlock all objects that are normally locked by gameplay achievements, such as career levels, aspirations, etc.
