In the live broadcast it showed the concept art of the sims and it looked to anime and like a cartoon , I know it just a concept sketch but I'm just a tad bit concerned but still super exited!!! 😃😃🎉

I'm a little worried about it, but not too much. Hopefully they'll listen to their fans concerns and wants.

well i think i saw the concept art for the sims 3 and it did look cartoony too, but the characters turned out a tad better so I wouldn't be too worried.

I think it will turn out better than what it seems. i do want a bit more realism so ya I get what you are onto.

If it doesnt look any better than Sims 3 then why would anyone buy it?

I think they have to do some radical changes, improve the graphics and maybe introduce a new style of sims... and definately work on the multiplayer. We want to play with our friends, that'd make the Sims 4 awesome.

So yeah i'll try and not get too worried just yet until we see more info!

I'm hoping that it won't appear too cartoonish, otherwise I won't be putting my money into it.

In all honesty, I'm not really worried about the "new" look for sims. If they want to keep their fans, they're going to have to stick with the same style or else they'll have a lot of people complaining. It Sims will probably look the same but more polygons slapped onto their model.

I actually think TS3 sims look more realistic :-/ only from the photos i've seen. They will probably (hopefully) turn out better!

I read in an interview that the devs are using animated films as inspiration, so yes, the graphics aren't going to be very realistic.

I actually agree with this move. The cartoony style fits the Sims as it makes characters look friendlier, warmer, and more emotional. On the other hand, ultra-realistic characters tend to look stiff, uncanny, and cold. For example:

    Cartoony/stylized:

    Realistic:

As you can see, the cartoony ones, although unrealistic, convey emotions better. Meanwhile, with the realistic-looking ones, their facial expressions barely change and are very stiff. Since the Sims 4 is centered around more emotional and more lovable sims, the cartoony style would be better. Not that I hate realistic graphics - it's just that they they don't fit in with the style of Sims. Also, realistic graphics, in order to look good, tend to need more powerful PCs, and EA wants the Sims 4 to be playable on average computers.

I agree. Although I like the cartoony art style, the quality of the graphics is a bit average.

I see that sims are better when they are realistic especialy the hair ! for me the expressions are nothing comparing to the look !

I am not worried. I like how they look and besides the hair, if you look at the sims as a whole, they do look much better (whether you like the style or not). I personally don't want really realistic sims, it's really off putting.

The hair is going to take some getting used to.. but I do think it suits the look they're going for.

why? It seems like when it comes to that , they are the best they've ever been. They multitask, they actually feel..so on so forth. The only drawbacks are the semiopen world and the way they look for most people.

Because no actual non-staged gameplay has been released so far, and still there are many questions without awenser and the fact that they hide thenselves with loads of staged videos worries me a lot. How many sims visit the community lots at sam time? will they be empty as in TS3 most of time ? how about freewill? is it big as thesims2 one ? how many interactions there are for each age ? etc.

I agree. They should show us a gameplay which is not staged. How long must we wait for some solid info? They can't expect us to preorder the game which we haven't seen working. What about a computer specs needed to run the sims 4 game?
I have a theory(which is certainly shared with many others simmers) that right now eaxis are having problems with few serious bugs and are trying to hide this ''fact'' behind a poker face or it is all planned and they are going to astound us with the best sims game ever made. Besides, my sim-fanatic heart hope to hope for the second of listed options.
