What would you want if that expansion came out?

Lol I haven't really tried it out that much either - actually haven't played much with the pets yet, I feel they're missing something somehow.. It was so much more fun in TS2! Also - I'd love for TS4 to have a pet store that doesn't just come with the LE. I'm really missing being able to buy different toys etc for the pets.

Oh def cows to milk! And pigs and cornfields, sheep, machines to take care of the fields, the ability to own both a house on one piece of land and then other lots where you could have your fields. And oh! Imagine if you could have maple trees and make maple syrup! That could be fun :D

You could also sheer sheep, but what would you do with the pigs?

Oh yeah hadn't thought of that, could be fun! Lol my thoughts didn't go there either  Maybe get some bacon? ;) Or would that be too cruel for young/sensitive simmers? Probably would be :p Oh I know! You could learn them tricks! I once knew someone who had a pig for a pet once lol :p

Killing pigs would probably be too suggestive for the current sims rating. Pets would be cool though.

Yeah I think all the little girls playing would be crushed if their sim suddenly killed off their own pig XD Even if it was just like cooking - sim takes the pig, twirly twirly, bacon in the fridge! :p

I think it would be alright to have an expansion for adults to have all the M rated content for those who wanted, or better yet two patch updates one rated T and the other rated M so people could choose.

I wonder if it were to become a thing if it would be a new skill or a part of gardening.

Oh yeah the patch update is a great idea! Although then parents would have to watch their kids to make sure they didn't dl the wrong one.. Could possibly cause lawsuits lol! Some poor kids accidentally (or just because they're curious) dl'ing the wrong one and then getting crushed by seeing pigs turn into bacon etc lol! Although, that is part of nature, so maybe wouldn't be such a bad thing to teach kids? That meat doesn't just come from the freezer ;)

Ikr, it'd be so much fun :D And then they could pour it on their pancakes ^^ yumm!

Hmm.. Good question.. Maybe there should be the harvesting as part of gardening and then processing the suryp would be a skill? Sort of like Nectar? I dunno lol :b

I think I would like it to be it's own skill.

I hadn't tried one either until about a week or two ago. Best of luck to you...I found it boring and deleted my fam. Poor Autumn and her pinto Gypsy are no more :(

I would love to be able to add farming/smallholding options to my Sims games.
I prefer to play sims who live more solitary lives & they tend to work growing their own crops, breeding pets & working as s/e artists or writers & so on.
With the renewed interest in crafts (things like the Sewing Bee here in the UK which caused sewing machine sales to rocket, or the rising price of food getting people to grow a bit more themselves) & general self sufficiency, perhaps something a little broader than just farming though.

Cows to milk - with a butter churn, cheese press etc.. to use the milk in.
Chickens - the ones in the Sims3 store are great, but could be so much better.
Ducks to feed, which would also look lovely on a pond as well as providing eggs.
Crops to harvest such as wheat & so on would be great with the ability to turn them into flour & bread.
Berries to harvest & turn into preserves, smoothies, pies etc..
Crafts, such as pottery, flower arranging (& growing), sewing, knitting, fixing up old cars & motorbikes & so on give my sims things to do to enhance their lives.
They could have their moods change by feeling proud of their accomplishments, happy they've saved money or ashamed/angry they can't afford to just buy things depending on personality.

I think the most important thing is that we can use the produce we create to do something else.
I find it a big problem in the sims when one of my sims gets into gardening, as they end up just having to sell all the stuff from their inventory as they produce far too much & don't have anything they can do with it apart from put it in the fridge or plant it.
It's very disappointing to get a new thing like the ability to collect eggs but not have new recipies to use with them too.

I think farming could add some quite interesting additions to the emotional side of the game, with some sims finding it depressing to work the land & others thriving on it.

I'd love to have a few tractors for my sims to drive around, but I hope they would start out really slow & need upgrading to go a bit faster.
I can just see them causing traffic jams as they trundle slowly down the road too.

I think these items would work well in an OFB context as well, but I'd like them to be neutral in time with a more classic look which I think would suit the art style of the Sims4 that we've seen so far (as I feel the chicken coop is) so that I could play them in modern settings as well as more dated games.

I really hope that EA gives a lot of thought to the look of fully planted harvestable gardens this time round & we get some more variety & height differences in the plants we can grow.
More things like plants that can climb the walls, tall veg like green beans that grow up frames, espaliered pear or apple trees we could grow against walls & etc.. would add a lot of character to the garden designs.
If we get another banana tree, I hope it looks a bit more like a banana tree too this time

Wow, well... this is another good post EA should look into. I like the idea of plants climbing walls, I've always missed it in the game. The option of gardening you described could really make things more ''alive'' in the sims 4.

That would be awesome! I always have gardens to plant seeds in my houses and that would be even better!
But I don't want Sims to kill the animals though!!! :D
