Anyone own/play/enjoy anything from the SimCity franchise?
I own SimCity 3000, SimCity 4 and SimCity Societies. I purchased SimCity (2013) from Origin a couple of months ago, but when I opened it, the graphics were a little too high-tech for my laptop (disappointed because it's brand new), so I opted for a refund. Pity, because I really liked the look of the game.

I never really got the chance to play SimCity Societies as the desktop I had at the time couldn't really handle it, and when I got a new machine, I never installed it to try it out. It doesn't particularly seem to be a fan favourite though, so I don't mind.

yes, it's REALLY good! Bad thing is, for the newest SimCity game you need a half decent gaming pc. It's pretty graphics intensive. Me and my gf have spent houurrrs making our cities.

The only thing that could be improved, is the multiplayer. When you're playing with someone, you can't both work on the same city at the same time, you have to build your own cities in the same region, and you can only go visit your friends city, nothing more.

i agree soda god. I love to work on the same city with my friend. Who in the real world runs the city alone and the mayor just don't have free rein of everything.

Ya Simcity is pretty fun Artpop.

It's gotten a lot of hate, but it's not bad I'm a fan of the graphics and how you can upgrade things. However, I wish I could play with the cops like in SC4 where you could tell the cops where to go, also I wish I could manipulate the landscape.

I never really thought about the multiplayer much since I usually don't use it, but that's a rather good idea to work together at the same time.

I need to get back on Simcity! It has been a while and they probably have fixed so much! I hate the fact that they changed it into a cash machine. I know EA needs to pay to keep up their servers and the game is free to play after you pay for the game, but some of the extra content can be high when it adds up.

So much has been fixed, you can even play offline!

Yeah I really enjoyed Simcity and I am glad (and kind of shocked) that EA listened to the players and added offline. I guess a lot of people really stuck to their guns and just did not buy (or stopped playing and investing in the add on content) and EA got hit in the wallet.

I haven't delved into SimCity yet but I've been thinking about it. I did play a bit when it used to be on FB. Maybe after reading these posts, I'll give it a try!

Don't forget the trailers. There are also videos on Youtube of people playing it and saying what they like or don't like.

I play SC5 when I'm in the mood for it... I don't know why, but it doesn't seem like a game that appeals to me. I think the main reason I bought it was just to have it in the collection! Also, I bought SC4 on Origin and SC3 at a carboot sale for £1! I'm a collector of the games more than a player, but they're there if I need them :)

I bought SimCity 5 a year ago when it came out and I played it a lot, it's a good game, but now I don't find myself playing it anymore. I was tempted to buy it because I got Battlefield 3 with it for free :3

Was there one thing that made you stop playing it? Or just a series of circumstances?
