i notice in those comparsions pictures the sims look the same in the sims 3( like there are robots) then in the sims 4 they have a different set of emotion on them that what i like about the sims 4 they are going deep with the emotions instead of just having little affects

Yes a lot of people seem to think the emotions aren't a big thing to add to the game, but I rather like it.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I also kind of like how some options will / will not be available depending on your sim's mood :)

I think it'll add a surprising amount of value to the game... it'll make the sims feel more real. I think they've got emotions spot on this game :D well spotted Emerald!

I also think that adding emotions are a good thing. Sims 2 was really base in necessities, if you make a lot of exercise your comfort will go down, if you are pregnant your bladder and energy go down quicker and so on. Hope that the emotions can work in the same way.

I agree! It'd make sense if that was the case, im sure the sims stats will play a big role on how happy/sad their emotions are!

I like the emotions system too. What The Sims 3 did lack was emotions to go with their mood. Like if a Sim got slandered or their family member died, they wll still be happy, do well on homework, can work, and stuff, only to cry probably once a hr or so.

I think it will add a lot to the gameplay.

I agree, maybe it will add a challenging aspect to the game.

I like the idea of emotions but I think we might be looking too far into it. Lindsay Pearson mentioned in the game trailer that emotions give us the chance to drive how these new sims move, feel, and experience life. Emotions give you more choices. You can create deeper stories with more possibilities. She then showed us how Andre was feeling bored. He was then able to mix things up with Sofia and Ollie. She mentions that emotional states will give us all sorts of different choices. Of course, he ended up feeling more than bored at the end of the story, but still.

We're so used to our sims being extremely robotic. Having the same "emotions" like feeling sad after someone passes away, feeling angry and heart broken when their partner cheats. Besides having to go to the toilet, eating, socializing, and sleeping ALL of our sims are the same, they just happen to look different. With this new game it seems they are giving us more life within our sims. Instead of just picking the same options when we click on a sims to socialize, or an object, depending on how our sim feels at the moment, more options will be added which I think is cool. Instead of the same channels on the tv when your sims is feeling "fine" perhaps if he/she's in a sad mood, one of the TV options could say "Watch Uplifting Movie" or something of that nature. Maybe a pregnant sim won't want to go for a walk because her feet or swollen or she's having back aches. She feels "very pregnant".

We all as humans "feel" several different emotions (unless you're a sociopath) in a day, yet we still for the most part get on with our lives and enjoy them. TS4 might be the same way. Instead of your sim being to angry or sad to eat, they have the option of changing their emotions back to functioning like blowing off steam at the gym, or punching bag, eating ice cream in the bathtub. She did mention that the decor she chose had an effect on her sim's emotional states. She didn't say that everything would. That causes me to believe she chose that certain decor on purpose to help with her story. I think there will be certain objects that will but it will warn us before buying that it could have a certain effect. I mean, just like a photo of a relative or pet that passed would on you, etc. At first I thought TS4 sims would be this base game full of emotionally unstable sims but I think this might actually give us way more options than we imagined.

I think the sims themselves will entertain us more with their emotions, it will be quite different when we make decisions according to how they feel and not how we feel they should feel, and I hope there will be consequences.

I just hope they won't outright refuse to things, like in TS1.

Yeah I read over the emotion aspect again and I just got done playing TS3. It gets dull without the emotion aspect after a while. Its all the same actions, the same moodlets to every event, it is so predictable. It is really up to our actions to make the story, and never how our Sims react.

So bring on this emotion system! :D

I doubt that lol. That was just annoying in TS1. How they would refuse to do stuff. "I can't propose because I am hungry"

    Sigh...

    Then once you feed them...

"I can't propose cause I have to go pee"

    Sigh...

I don't think I ever got married to an NPC just because of that.

I marry NPCs but then I cheat and edit them LOL. Maybe not completely change them but I do tweak them a bit.

I like the idea but I think that it would have its up and downs. For thing it would definitely be somewhat realistic but it just seems like too much. Like for example, when I was playing TS2 I had this pregnant sim who was CONSTANTLY hungry and had to go to the bathroom literally every other sim hour and it just drove me up the wall! So...it's a yay/nay for me

Yeah pregnant sims in TS2 was a nightmare. The first time I had a pregnant sim in TS2 I ended up trapping her. Did you know pregnant sims can't die till after they give birth?

I had a glitch once where my pregnant sim couldn't/wouldn't eat ended up dying. It was horrible! I'm still traumatized by that memory...just kidding. It was very sad, though.
