I live in Maryland but work in Washington, DC.

I've always wanted to live in Britain, though.

What part of Britain interests you? =]

I've been an anglophile for quite some time and I tease my family and friends often that I'm moving to London, but I really prefer more suburban or rural settings. I've been doing some genealogy research of late which is leading me (at least in part) to Scotland so my interest is piqued there now also.

London is nice, i have been there twice for a trip to a museum & the Main BBC. I felt so small there! But then again if you know where your going then it wont be a problem. I have been to Scotland just the once; Ayrshire...there was a lot of land, there is a lot of land in England, when i travel to Uni & back the train goes through a lump of land all the time, very lovely! Plenty of animals. Though i personally wouldn't want to live in the country, it's far to quiet for my ears. My Nan & Grandad used to live in a quiet estate in Worksop everytime i stayed with them i always had problems sleeping cause it was so quiet! I just need the song of my people to send me to sleep

i completely understand! i like the quiet of the small town where i live on the Chesapeake Bay (and i'm a tiny bit of an eccentric loner) but i don't want to be too far from civilization or from people. what i dislike most is having to drive everywhere, especially in overly congested traffic! i sometimes wish i lived where i could take a bus or a train and not have to own a car. i'm a very impatient driver haha

I like to have my alone time too but i can't leave the busy town life i grew up with it & i've gotten used to it, i'm lucky enough to be in a area that is surrounded by train stations & networks but they are getting more expencive as the years go by & if they keep getting higher it really defeats the purpose of stopping people driving everywhere ._. , I've been trying to drive but the more things i learn the less of a desire of me wanting to complete everything =d

I'm originally from West Virginia but currently live in North Carolina, USA...have always wanted to visit some of these other countries...maybe one day.

I'm from New Brunswick, Canada and speak 7 languages.

Wow...I do good to speak English & it's my mother tongue...I'm impressed! LOL!! My daughter can pick up languages easily...she speaks 2-3.

Let's trade! I wanna live in the UK! You can have my house in MD, my long commute to Capitol Hill every day, my thankless government job and the crappy weather!

I missed this awhile back so sorry! I work for the U.S. Senate on Capitol Hill, but not for a Senator or Committee, thank goodness. I work for the Office of the Sergeant at Arms as a Parking Operations Supervisor and believe me...it's more drama than one would expect. Where, and if, one parks is just as politically driven (pun unintended but a good one!) as everything else up here.
