I am both, hear me out, and LGBTQ+ supporter and a Harry Potter fan, why? because the author's opinion shouldn't matter, it shouldn't affect your love for their world, their work. Why? because books and art are there to inspire you, there is literally nobody who can stop you from shipping Harry and Ron or making your own LGBTQ+ characters and stories based in the world. So what if the author doesn't approve? you don't have to love them as a person to love what they create and you don't always have to agree either.

You know when you make a ship and you desperately hope the author makes it happen but they don't? You never know if they are withholding from doing that ship because they don't agree with it or if they are scared to get backlash. While I don't agree with JK Rowling on her beliefs of trans ppl, I admire the fact she expressed her beliefs at all, most authors don't discuss their opinions on stuff such as that, and ofc for good reason, seeing as many LGBTQ+ fans have moved away from liking her work.

Just goes to show we all have a lot to learn, JK Rowling may never change her opinion on trans ppl, but I hope she learns to see things from our perspective someday, just as I hope many LGBTQ+ fans learn that it doesn't matter what belief a creator has, you can still be inspired by what you love and create, and maybe by still loving their work and making new wonderful things from it JK Roling and other creators might see that we are not going to give in, we are strong and proud and you can't stop us from loving it and expanding onto it.
