General Summary of the Sims 4 so far ................

Sims 4 will be a single player game that has an offline mode (thank bob!) though you can play online and as of now have to be online when you first install/load. Sims 4 will utilize a 32-bit executable


Features
Gallery (in game version of the exchange) There is a CC flag option but the gallery doesn’t scan it for you it relies on the uploader to click it.

Easier and quicker build mode. Looks to be a more effective version of blueprint. Whole rooms can be picked up and moved

Auto save. Kinda like Sims 3 auto back up

Sims have emotions now they can only experience one at a time: happy, sad, tense, terrible, embarrassed, disappointed, angry, playful, and focused

Sims are not left handed or right handed they are ambidexterity

There is no hair animations. Such as moving while Sims walk or in the breeze ect

There is no pets, weather, and supernatural. Also there is no tragic clown, big foot or social bunny

There is NO monthly subscriptions.

They are not using simpoints in Sims 4. It will be continued to be used for Sims 3

There is no toddlers. Babies and Toddlers were not combined. They have mentioned the possibility to add them later

Sims 4 now has windowed full screen mode in addition to full screen and windowed mode. Windowed & Windowed Full screen do disable edge scrolling

There is speech bubbles.

There is already a Modfolder

Mirrors have reflections as does water and to an extent windows.



CAS

A pretty awesome looking CAS in my opinion. You can sculpt Sims like clay or select from a section of preset

Clothing is unlocked you can wear a suit to bed or your pjs as your formal or your every day wear. There is 4 clothing categories.

There is a feature called Styled Looks it is complete outfits that the designers made you can click and wear. There is not a way to share Styled Looks to the gallery as of yet

In create a Sim you pick 3 traits and gain one based on your aspiration. Aspirations can be changed though that does not change the trait you earned from your first aspiration. You now earn traits similar to how you did with pets in Sims 3. Not all traits are available in CAS.

Traits: Perfectionist, Family Oriented, Hates Children Genius, Bookworm, Musical Genius, Dreamer, Gossip Queen, Party Animal, Ambitious, Clumsy, Hot-Headed, Loves Outdoors, Outgoing, Creative, Active, Romantic, Bro, Insane, Glutton, Hopeless Romantic, and Materialistic, Loner
You now have aspirations instead of life time wishes you can now change them anytime you want.

Traits unlocked via your aspiration: Essence of Flavor, Muser

There is no CASt which cannot be added at a later date as well as no Color Wheel unknown if it is possible to add.

There is only 2 sliders one for body fat and the other for muscle.

Tattoos are in CAS but there is no Sim that applies a tattoo for you like in Ambitions. (Not sure how that works) Some parts you can get tattoos at include arm, lower back, and ankle

Sims now have walk styles. There is 7 default, perky, snooty, swagger, feminine, tough and goofy. Emotions can affect your walking style you can only use one walking style at a time.

There will not be a gender preference option (sexuality). Same-gender relationships will work the same

There is no favorites in Sims 4

Teenagers-elders are all the same height.

Elder Sims can now be parents to children and teenagers in CAS.

You can decide skin tone, eye color and hair color via presets, most are natural colors but there is blue and green for the hair and skin tone.



Game play

There is similar needs in Sims 4 there is 6. Bladder, Hunger, Energy, Fun, Social, Hygiene.

You start off with 20k.

There is an 8 Sims per household cap easily changed by mods.

Skills: Piano, Violin, Guitar, Hacking, Cooking, Gardening, Writing, Painting, mixology, video Gaming, there is NO Woohoo skill
Careers: Culinary one branch is mixology, entertainer career, which uses music and comedy. Stand-up Comedian

Loading screens. You experience a loading screen going between each lot each neighborhood the only time you don’t see a loading is screen is between your active lot and the public space. You do see one between public spaces and non-active lot. The gurus say they are shorter than 30 seconds

Sims are able to pass each other more easily then in Sims 3

White Plumbobs indicate who is in your conversation

You can send love letters via the PC. There is no online dating feature though.

Fire can pass through walls now.

There is still moodlets, moodlets effect your emotion and vice versa

There is multitasking – not with everything though but with quite a bit.

Babies have legs. Has not been mentioned if you can change their clothes or hair. You can also breastfeed babies. Sim do it standing and of course there is a blur.

If you don’t pay your bills your first your electricity will be shut off then your water will be.

There is no laundry in the base game.

There also is no disease.

Teens will not have acne. Female will not have facial hair.

There is no stylist career

Your Sims cannot be hired for the NPC jobs such as maids

Sims do not have separate money. They still have family funds

You now have whims instead of wishes. You cannot lock them.

There is an adoption. You can pick the child from a list I’m assuming it’s like Sims 3 pet adoption

Teens can actually have "the talk" with their parents.

Teen Sims can complain about their parents.

Kids can cuddle with their parents on the couch.

There is romantic interactions sitting down.

Deaths: Laughing to death

There is NPCs maids, and gardeners. Gardeners are not hirable they tend to the public gardens in the public spaces maids can be hired for a day or reacquiring.

There is Inventories both individual and family

The milk bottles for babies are now white not green

Children can make macaroni art.

You can grow herbs, vegetables, fruits, and flowers. Seeds are delivered to you.

There is no turn ons/turn offs or attractive system.

The plumbob above them changes color based on their needs.



World

There is not an open world in Sims 4. The world has 6 separate neighborhoods, each neighborhood has up to 5 lots. There is public spaces. Public spaces are the open areas of a neighborhood that are not part of a lot. Public spaces in each active neighborhood will be fully loaded at all times, and Sims will be able to roam these areas of the world freely. Public areas cannot be edited

There is now travel in-between worlds. To work, visit friends and family, go on vacation or you can even move to another world and won’t lose your relationships.

There is something I’m calling a Townie pool it’s a list of townies that can visit and move into your town. You can delete people off the list and add your own.

In Sims 4 townies don’t repopulate. They move in to the town they die and others move in they don’t get jobs themselves either.

Steamboats and Trams the ones in the trailer are simply decorative

Your sim can’t be homeless it must own a lot

There is no apartments



Lots/build mode

The biggest lots are 50x50

We have attics (we have then in Sims 3 not sure what the big deal is)

Max of 3 floors excluding roof and foundation.

There is no Grocery stores, Rabbit holes, Clothing store

Can’t have split level homes

No basements but possible to add at a later date.

There is no house boats

You can stretch windows. Changing the sizes



Pregnancy

Open maternity wear you can also edit your Sim while she is pregnant.

Pregnant Sims waddle.

Sims can have babies at home or at the hospital.



Content

Items: Bars, Tablets, Cow plant, Piano, motion gaming rig, Cupcake machine, Rocket

There is no Pools and hot tubs swimming in general. No swimwear as well. It has been mentioned to add at a latter date.

There are weddings, wedding arches, cakes, etc.
