Spouse not taking surname?

So, I had my sims get engaged and all was hunky dorey. I decide I don't want to wait for a wedding party (my sim was already pregnant and I wanted them married before the kid came) and have them elope. I figured it'd be similar to a private wedding, which it was. Buuuut my sim's husband didn't take her surname, or vice versa, which I find really weird. It shouldn't bug me too much, but it does... Any idea on how to get their surnames matching? I can't do it through CAS.

It doesn't work for me... Essentially I followed the steps but can't edit anything besides clothing, walk style, and aspiration/trait stuff. When I hover/click over a name to change it, it says something along the lines of "not able to change a pre-existing sim". I'll have to see what Alourra says.

Did you mange to figure it out? I had the exact same problem. The thing I was doing wrong was not putting in the other code after "testingcheats true" which is "cas.fulleditmode" which takes you to an advanced edit mode of cas. You will be able to edit name and voice... Yayy! Good luck

Yeah, I figured it out by doing what you did. However, it has messed up my family relationships so I can no longer use it... Made my wife's children think they are all siblings. >.<

I've been hearing this quite a bit, is this just a bug or is it a feature that they didn't include in the game? Hope it's not the latter because that's a bit silly...

I just read that cheat is bugged so be careful using it. It is said to make your sims all siblings and remove any other relationship. The gurus know about it and are working on it. I myself kind of like that they keep their names. You get to choose a last name for the baby when it's born so it's just a little less constricting on the parents. It's a bit modern is all, and that being said by a woman who's shared her husband's last name for 25 years LOL.
