The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat Game Pack confirmed

So word has been circulating about this since.. December 15ish? It's probably been noted on here already, but I've been absent so I don't know, really. Sorry if this post just ends up being redundant, but I'm excited about it so I had to post on it!

We are sure it will be worth the wait, with a new destination, new objects, activities and a whole new skill. No matter how you play the game, this Game Pack will have something exciting for you!

In somewhat of a holiday daze, I must've missed the part where Electronic Arts confirmed the recent leak of The Sims 4's first expansion, Outdoor Retreat.
Discovered by data-miners in the recent update for The Sims 4, which introduced two new careers and an assortment of holiday decor, Outdoor Retreat was technically labeled as a "Game Pack."

Taking to the game's blog, Sims 4 producer Grant Rodiek confirmed Outdoor Retreat's January 2015 release window, while also explaining what a "Game Pack" is exactly.

"Game Packs are unique to The Sims 4," Rodiek said. "About nine years ago, during The Sims 2 days, we introduced Stuff Packs to The Sims franchise to change up the way you could customize your Sim stories. Stuff Packs were focused on a specific theme and included clothing, hairstyles, furniture and décor."

"For The Sims 4, we wanted to continue that tradition while giving you even MORE opportunities to craft the stories you want, since a Game Pack provides new gameplay features, new objects and new clothing based around one central theme," he continued. "Being able to expand your gameplay through a Game Pack allows us to give you some of the things you’ve been asking for and it’s something we are really excited about."

As for what players can expect in Outdoor Retreat, Rodiek pretty much covered what we already knew from the leak. You'll be taking your Sims to Granite Falls where you can visit and explore an all-new destination packed with new gameplay possibilities, campfire songs, weenie roasts, and bear costumes... Yup, things are getting weird now.

The Outdoor Retreat Game Pack will be priced at $20, with no word if EA plans on offering it as part ofsome sort of Season Pass.

Sims can partake in new group activities like the campfire and horseshoes, try their hand at mastering potions with the new herbalism skill, wander through the wilderness, collect all new plants, insects and use them to create herbal remedies and new cooking recipes.

EA: Granite Falls is a brand new destination in The Sims 4. When you arrive you'll be in a Campground neighborhood where your Sims can set-up camp among the trees or rent a fully furnished cabin. Your Sims will only have what they bring with them – any additional supplies they'll need they'll have to purchase at the Ranger Station – but players may edit the Campground lots through Manage Worlds and build whatever they like on them.

The second neighborhood in Granite Falls is Granite Falls National Park, which is a lush forest full of plants, insects, and scenic vistas to discover and explore. There are rumors of a mysterious hermit who lives high up in the mountains, but no one knows quite where…

So. Opinions? What do you guys think of game packs?

I think it's an easy way to get way more money than through EP's, but paired with more content as well.
If what I heard has been correct, then many of these game packs will be made. Players would be able to customize their game to fit their needs, and this seems amazing.
