Family Trees?

Well, i'll have to make the family tree myself, then. No other way, apparently. Sadly.


Why EA?

Well looks like that echo website is gonna get alot of new members ...I forgot all about the family tree til this thread...it was nice to look back to see who married whom and had what children...especially when my Sims became Elders and their children had children....oh well...Magpie thanks for that website I guess I will be using it to keep up on who is who in my families...would be nice tho if they EA just didn't want to mention it but it was indeed in the game I would be surprised...But after reading Luthien's post I doubt it

Is there also a website like Family Echo that has the ability to use pictures? I think especially with the genetic system thats what makes it most interesting :O

I don't know why they left out the family tree - which seems to be such a basic and staple feature in all the Sims games. However, I will say, it's really refreshing to see the reaction over in this forum compared to the reaction over at the official Sims 4 forum. Sure, everyone here is upset or disappointed that the family tree feature is missing, but I'm glad to see we're all able to express our disappointment/surprise/upset in a calm manner.

Anyway, I never really used the family tree feature myself since I don't play legacies, but I really hope EA patch it back in later on. It's just strange it's missing since it's always been there, and it doesn't seem like a particularly difficult feature to code into the game either

Well for all of you that like to keep track of your sims family that echo site is good but there's another one that you can add pictures and videos...http://www.myheritage.com/page/free-family-tree...I will probably use this one..its free you dont have to pay unless you want the premium package...

Oh and it comes with languages in case some would rather in their own language but its free

I am not worried at all. In the demo, so far you can make siblings which would be pretty pointless if there was no family tree in the final game. I am pretty sure that Sims camp isn't the finished game. Why give everything way before the release?

Developers told users at Gamescon just yesterday that there's not a family tree in the game. No way it'll be in the release, then. It would have to come in in a patch or (more likely, I suspect) an EP.

You can add pictures on echo too. The example in my other post shows one that someone uploaded pics into.



And I'm hoping a family tree comes in a patch vs an ep.

aww I'm going to miss this, I liked trying to make all sims in the neighborhood having 1 common ancestor lol no story progression either so I guess there goes that plan again...

you'll still have families and they will know who is there sister,cousin etc just there won't be a visible family tree anywhere in the game. In the other forum I think people are taking it as there are no family relations anymore when there is, you choose if they are married,siblings or the children of whatever in CAS just like before. Its just not done using a family tree anymore its a drop down menu

Yeah, this is quite disappointing to me. I'ma huge generational/family player. We're really getting the short end of the stick in the base game experience.

And yeah, I know there will likely be EPs to make up with it but I work hard for my money. -.o I don't want to spend it on things that in theory could (and in my opinion should) be free.

I am stoked to see that list of available relationships in CAS alone.

Wow. Those are all in CAS? That's pretty sweet -- I can move someone in with their Auntie!
