New member, Old Simmer

I was randomly watching The Simpsons a few hours ago and that's how I chose this username


Hello! I've been playing Sims ever since it came out for Gamecube, and Sims 3 is one of my favorite games to play. I can spend hours on just creating a Sim, and I always start with making myself XD

I have a few expansions, which are Pets, Ambitions, and Seasons. I stopped getting more because my laptop can barely handle all the expansions now. Although I'm excited for Sims 4, I doubt I'll be able to play it until I get a better computer. Like all of you, I have so many questions about Sims 4, and I really hope that it far exceeds our expectations. ^_^

But well, we're all excited for Sims 4 too and almost having a breakdown because they aren't saying anything else. And yes, I know they just announced yesterday, but what am I gonna do? :lol:

So happy to have you, McBain! You really seem like someone I could be great friends with.

I'm on the same page as you, my computer is not a bad one by any means, but just does not handle the Sims as smoothly as it should. At this point, if I could, I would just have a powerful desktop for my gaming, but because my job has me on the road 200+ days out of the year, a laptop is a must. And we all know how poorly laptops handle gaming unless specifically designed for it. To top it off, I have just paid off my current computer and have no desire to add another monthly payment to my bills. I am really hoping Maxis/EA takes this into consideration when designing the game, although I know there's not a ton they can do if they want to make gameplay fantastic.

Welcome to the forums, I think everyone has made a self sim at one point or another, I think I have several times.

I always get depressed when I make a self-sim because they turn out so much more fabulous than myself. Maybe I should go into the game and really highlight my quirks and short-comings and it would become a more realistic challenge.
