Pre-Load Sims 4

It looked like a typical gift-card. I payed about $30 for it and when I come back on the release I would have to pay the other $35 dollars.

Actually with the dis version is still doesn't matter. Being likely the same as Mass Effect 3, the disc seemed to be pretty redundant and I had to do a full install through Origin anyway, which makes the concept of discs seem questionable.
So yes, to install you need internet connection.

Only to register it before you can play, I think.

If it's like other EA games then you could either install it from the disc or use the CD-Key that it comes with to register it via Origin. Also in Origin if you only bought it digitally then when Origin downloads the game you can tell Origin to keep those downloaded files and burn them to a dvd. There physical copy.

Yeah that's what I was also gonna add to my other post. Most physical games now are nothing more then fodder. You get the disc which most of the times does nothing. You have to register the key it comes with and end up downloading the digital version.

Okay so I thought we could pre-load on the 29th but that says 24 hours before launch so.... Monday Sept 1st?

May want to rename the thread, seeing as it's misleading and just wrong. Pre-load does not mean being able to play it early.

For me on Origin it shows me August 29th as the Pre-Load date and September 1st 11:00 PM as the release date to actually play it.

When your game is in “Pre-Load” state, you will be able to download the game (to a certain percentage) ahead of the release date. This will save you time on release day, allowing you to install and play quickly, rather than downloading for the majority of the night.

So I'm going to be getting the sims 4 from origin and I want to play midnight I heard you need to get the deluxe to play at midnight is this true? Or can I get the standard edition and play at midnifht?

I'm not ever buying the sims 4. It looks like a cheap ripoff.

OK question...if someone doesn't like the SIMS 4 why would they post in a Forum for Sims 4?

I avoid Origin downloads.. I don't trust it. What if in 10 years later Origin vanished... Pfft! Get a box from actual store which is even better!

That's alright. Which Sims do you play mostly? Sims 3?

technically the pre-order lets you hop right into the game without waiting for shipping or going to store.

so in way you do play it early ;--)

LOL people will be falling asleep on the east coast but having their alarms on full blast to wake them at midnight ........I will be one of them on central time 11pm... just won't need an alarm cause Im off that week thank goodness

I set origin to save all downloaded files and burn it to a disc. ;-)

Ooh, I'll need to do that soon, though I don't have much in terms of games on Origin. Heh, if only my disc drive didn't mysteriously break. >_<

I wonder if they allow that on Steam.
