Sims 4 News & Chat (Shoutbox Substitute)

No since Mom called again today and they said it might not be shipped till Next Friday. And the only stores that have it available in stores (but limited) are Best Buy and Future Shop on the other side of Toronto from me. EB games only has the Limited Edition. I mean it shouldn't take that long to 'look into' why the game never got shipped.

Why do I even go to that loser chat. They said I should suck it up and f- wait till two weeks from now for the game. They don't seem to understand I should have gotten the game yesterday at the earliest and because if it not going to be shipped until next Friday I wouldn't be able to get the game till two weeks after other people have it.

I'm not really sure if I like anything. I was up for giving this game a good chance since I was so excited about it, but upon actually playing it... I just feel left deflated and the game feels a bit lacklustre.

Right off the bat I can say that I am disappointed with how rubbish the graphics are, which is such a vital part of the game for me. I couldn't enjoy The Sims 3 on my old laptop as the graphics were just terrible, but when I got my new laptop last year, The Sims 3 functioned so well I then bought all the Expansions/Stuff Packs, and it still ran so smoothly even on the highest settings. But with The Sims 4, my laptop can barely run it on Medium settings without it lagging, it's horrible and it really doesn't make me want to play it. It's left me confused because I thought The Sims 4 was going to run better than The Sims 3, but obviously not.

I'm having trouble with the new UI and overall design of how things pop-up, like even the window that appears when selecting a career...I just find it so childish and ugly.

I know a game like The Sims has to evolve, but to me it feels like a disconnection from all three of the previous games, like they all had their similarities, this one just doesn't seem to fit in to me.

Graphics is definitely a big thing for me though, I can't enjoy a game where everything looks blurry and and horrible. Now I face the debate of whether I should take advantage of Origin's Great Game Guarantee and opt for a full refund... because I know that until I update my graphics card, I won't be feeling it, so I feel like I've just wasted money... which the game is definitely not worth £60.

@Michael be glad you EVEN have the bloody game. Walmart been nothing but a bitch with my copy of game. By either 5pm or 11pm they will call us back with an update after my sister escalted it today.

I think Origin is the cause of some of that lag you get in TS4. At least that's the case for me. Tested and proven, when I put Origin in "Offline Mode" all instances of my lag goes away.

However, I keep Origin online while I play because I want to be a part of the in-game community.
It's a "painfully-pleasurable" experience, if that's even a legit phrase to use haha.

It might not be for everyone, but it is for me. I'm just raising awareness even if it's not the actual problem at hand.

I think I have to agree with other people, that Origin might be the problem. I am as confused as you are as to why the sims 4 isn't running smooth on your laptop if the sims 3 worked fine.
