    The recent posts box despite seeming to be useful, I found was making everyone be lazy. Less people were clicking into the different areas of the site to find new threads that were relevant and instead just clicking onto the most recent threads... meaning threads that moved down off that box sometimes were lost and never replied to - therefore less people were posting and finding threads they wanted to reply to. Now, people are more inclined to look around the areas, find more threads relevant to them.

    As for the shoutbox, instead of members posting a new thread to ask a question thus benefitting the entire community and future members, they would just ask it in the shoutbox... and their questions/answers get lost forever at the cutoff point which was no good for anyone.

    The hope is that having removed both of them, more people will find new threads, post, contribute to the site helping others not just now but in the future and boosting the community as a whole helping people find and join the community :)

    We are returning to our roots... being a forum and a source of information/discussion that will last. Not just some chatroom.

    I'm impressed with the donation goal being achieved already, didn't take long at all. :eek:
    Also, don't mind the shoutbox being gone, as I've said before, I think as time goes on people tend to pay more attention to that than actually posting in threads. As for the stats box, it did come in handy but I'm sure we'll be able to survive without it. :hungry:
