I like the idea of designing the objects but if that does happen it will probably be with preset colours and designs, that just shows how much we need Create-A-Style. Sorry, I went a bit off-topic, I do like the idea, I voted yes.

Love that idea! That's 100% real lifestyle! I would love to have that feature! Same with sore knees if they fall, maybe a teenager with pimple face then see a doctor for a cream, etc...

While I do like the idea of including disabilities and wheelchairs at a future date and time, I don't think the Sims genre is ready for it quite yet. It would include tons of animations that would have to be made and added to the game in addition to the regular games and expansions, and it also provides a potential for possible abuse by irresponsible individuals that include kids learning to abuse wheelchair occupants and the similarly disabled. Perhaps for something later down the line like Sims 7, and maybe not including the ability to use the evil trait on disabled Sims...it might be possible in the future. I just really don't see a large buying market for it right now, as only people that are already disabled themselves or know of someone that is visibly disabled would be interested in making the purchase. It wouldn't really be viewed as a 'fun' addition to an already expensive gaming series, and unfortunately, EA is still all about the money, not hitting home with all people on a grandiose scale. I suppose there is always a possibility...so who knows?

No. How about adding the coolest feature such as toddlers, heights and pools stuff rather than disabilities? What do you do with that? Push the wheelchairs down the hill? I honestly don't understand why few people wants that? That is laughable. If I had that in my game, I probby build a huge ramp then push them all the way down to the hill while laughing so hard then one day when I see them in real life. I probby tell my bestfriends "Oly shit! There's wheelchair in game... exactly same like her and she died..." I probby ended up laughing with group of friends. That's awful. That's why I don't want that option. I rather to be good and stay clean from my mind.

While I do agree with you on most of the points you're making here...I also have spent my own share of time in a wheelchair in the past, so I do understand some players wanting to be able to create a Sim that better represents them, personally. EA has expanded the minis on their ClubPogo site to include wheelchairs not too long in the past...so it might be a consideration to include this into the base system in future releases, if not as only part of an expansion pack. I don't think the pack will revolved completely around just disabilities, just include them. I still don't see it happening for a release as early at TS4, but you never know. This post wasn't specifically started because being a wheelchair is viewed as 'fun' in any way...just so people that are afflicted can feel like they are being best represented in the progression of the game. Just please keep in mind too that people that have experienced disabilities in their past that enjoy playing Sims are people with feelings too...please don't step on those.

this^. Just because you don't want disablities in the game Queen. Doesn't mean their aren't other disabled people who actually do want it in the game. It has nothing to do about disabilities being 'fun' as is often the mistaken case of what people like you think is what people want (no offense)-but the chance for disabled people to have a fair chance of being represented too. There are some disabled people who are in wheelchairs (or in one case a person who was born with one leg) and they don't think it's right that they can't 'make' themselves..that they aren't 'perfect' because their sim-self isn't 'them'. That in a sense (in my opinion) they feel inferior because they're basically are being told "You aren't good enough to be in a video game as a disabled person so we're making your simself walk'.

    Honey...
Little you know that I am deaf woman here and I am not gonna to add hearing aids on Sims and force them to learn how to sign language that looks like chopping Bruce Lee karate hands, plus create a voice sound for them to talk like "WAH WAH" (water) just like the movie, "Miracle Worker" and then people will play more on voice to make it even silly on everything like Wah wah *hand wave* Wah wah, wah wah, wah wah... *singing in the shower* *WAH... static* It's insulting. Plus I don't have to remind myself that I am deaf in game for 24/7 hours.

For wheelchair: You can create an avatar with a wheelchair like ClubPogo for your forum if you want but in a living a virtual world as playing the game(s).

No wheelchairs on games... I don't approve because people out there will making fun on them, post the screenshots from the games to the sites like I said above... that can lead to bullying, insulting, etc... Otherwise if you truly want to have it in game so bad then ask a mod to create it for you personally so you can enjoy it. So please don't bite my words. :)

as the OP said to me earlier
Would you, Queen and your deaf friends who might also play sims sue EA just because a 'bully' tortured a deaf sim until they died or something? Like I said before it would be an option you could ignore? Do you play with gay sims? If not you ignore it right? What about fat sims do you play with those?

Again, I mean nothing by that comment, but meant that some people feel like they can represent themselves better on Sims if they can make they avatars appear to be in wheelchairs. Like I said before...it might be a nice edition for a far future release of Sims, but it's way too early for this to be acceptable right now. My father has primary progressive MS, and he is now always confined to a wheelchair when he leaves the house because his legs no longer work properly. I never said "I" wanted this in a game...I just said I could see it coming out as an add on for future games. I, myself, don't really think having wheelchairs in my personal gaming life would be ideal, but I was speaking on behalf of others that might appreciate it.

Hello UberLisa... oops I mean to say, "disneygirl"
Hmm... I have no idea if some deaf people play The Sims but you can ask them.

Now Let me tell you, disneygirl about how your mind is working as I can see that you think that Gay is disability? Since you talk about disabilities since day 1, right? What's different between gay, fat or/and wheelchair base on disability? You can explain here, disneygirl.

Who said I would sue if anything happened? I never said it but I guess you would since you mentioned it first. I only said I don't approved on wheelchair for games only. :) But if they decided to add it, mod it or whatever... I don't even care and I will DISABLE it.

@Queen if you had bothered to look in one of the other threads about such stuff (disabilties). You would noticed I said that one deaf person wanted at least the flashing lights for doors and fire alarms (not necarassy a deaf sim) so that he can tell when someone is at the sims' door or there's a fire in the sims' house. I'm not saying gay or fatness is a disablity (except the latter could be if one is obese). I'm just saying that we are able to play with gay and fat sims but you wouldn't allow people to play with disabled sims because of the fact they will be 'toured'.

Exactly! How come gay, fat, and old people can be in the sims, but not us? :'( I guess people think we are too worthless to be in the sims, and that we can't do anything right...

off-topic In Real Life in a big city near me. There's a restaurant that was suppose to open on July the 16th called "Signs" all the servers are deaf and in order to order food at this restaurant one needs to sign food weather or not the dinner is deaf/hard of hearing or is 'normal'. For those who don't know how to sign there will be a cheat book with signs. The majority of disabled people are unemployed because businesses don't want to re-model their business to help a disabled person. Please Queen don't give me that junk about leading to bullying, etc. Disabled People can already get bullied in RL because of TV shows like Family Guy, etc which have disabled characters but make fun of them. How come it's allowed in TV shows but not a game? Yet Disabled people are the most hard working workers. I know in some restaurant in Ontario (not the Signs) that there's a deaf chef.
and then there's a famous disabled violinist whom in March got abandoned at the Pearson Airport . Some place in Asia, there's a pastry chef who has no hands.

Through out history anyone of importance-all had forms of disabilities. A Roman senator had issues speaking. As well as the current Queen's father. Julius Caesar had something that we might considered to be diabetes today but people thought it was something else. Of course there's Helen Keller. FDR is another example (even though he did try to hide it), Terry Fox (sure he did die but the person is he did have disablty)

For gawd's sake! You gone too far for begging my arse off! Calm the shit down. My vote is still a no... Can't you live with that? No matter how hard you try to make me say yes but I'm sorry... it's not gonna happen, my answer is still a NO. You have lots of people who agreed with you. Can't you be happy and stay with your own crowd to discuss? Plus it's about the Sims game while we are sticking to this subject on this forum that has nothing to do with TV or real life world. If you want to talk about TV then find another TV forum and discuss there about it or whatever. Now please turn around and wheel away!
