Sims gaining weight?

Mine gained weight,but I made a Chef,so maybe all those little treats went to the hips,I spent my day off in the Gym but I came out looking like I had a weeks supply of steroids,could do with some sort of Tab status showing you your body weight

I made my girl on the having-buttocks side to begin with, and now I am facing this discrepancy: she's buffed like a pro in body building, muscles sticking out everywhere, but she still has thighs thick as tree-trunks, and I'm making her eat only when she's starving. She started getting fit by digging and gardening, and then got chubby cause of eating, I suppose, and then I took her to the gym but never on the weight lifting machine, only treadmill, and she still looks like Swartz on steroids..... :/ Not happy with this at all frankly. I hadn't intended her to get muscly. I wish there was a way other than the insta-lean potion to fix this.

I'm using a no-fat/muscle gain mod in the mean time while I wait for Maxis to address the aggressive weight shifting.

This has probably been stated before (So many comments so I only read the first few, sorry) But I had the same issue originally. my sims were getting FAT. I found that if you kept eating the fried foods and pastas, they gained weight faster, and eating salads more helped maintain weight. My kids had eaten a lot of the fatty foods and grew up to be chubby, but the next time around they ate healthier and they were very skinny..

So I'd say the foods definitely have an effect.. but even a bit of exercise every few days helps a lot.

I'll write my experience so far from playing with a Sim that has a Foodie trait and with whom I've always paid attention not to feed her unless her Hunger bar was already red - she gained weight excessively anyways!

I talked to a friend who played and I remember she jokingly said her Sim got a fat ass after having an after midnight snack. I thought it was kind of drastic, and later when I played the game too I noticed that Sims really change shape quickly. I was on a collecting spree, collecting metals, gems, fossils, frogs and plants. It made my Sim run around (or just walk) around the neighborhood and soon I noticed her muscle contour changed and she became real bulky and body-builder like. I really didn't like it, but better that than being a fatty, eh?

Her aspiration is Masterchef so over time I maxed the Cooking and Gourmet Cooking skill. Despite not eating while full (or even half full) my Sim kind of got really fat. I tried to use exercise machines to keep her in shape and lose weight, but she didn't change shape, only gained ugly muscle tone - so she was a muscular fatty, and really quickly too, like after one or two workouts!

So I gave up on that, and I guess I'll just have to edit my Sim in CAS mode using cheats all the time. I can't tell if different foods affect gaining weight, I suppose they do. I don't want to keep my Sim eating only salads cause she eats only once or twice a day anyways, is a foodie and cooks gourmet food all the time - does anyone know if there's a connection between gourmet cooking and normal cooking and weight gain?

With Sims so smart and notifications popping out for everything, I wish there was something that made us watch the weight or at least some lessons about foods and fitness. Whichever way your Sim is heading - fitness or fatness - it happens too fast and too drastic.

Lol I still can't stand when my sim gets pregnant because she has a cc hair that's very long and her boobs get so damn big they go through the hair, and in CAS you can only make them somewhat small while pregnant so she goes her whole pregnancy (9 days with mod) with hair going through her boobs. And obviously, shes a little fatty after each birth. I use cas to get her back into shape lol.

I have this MOD, but I think I need to get in my mods folder and move it or something because it doesn't appear to be working for me atm. My fault entirely, I'm sure.

@Octarin for whatever reason I never really viewed Mods as cheating (unless it's like Nraas or something, of course.)

Don't unpack the mod, it's a script configuration in Python. TS4 is based off of it.

Yeah. I've got other script mods that work fine, when I'm on my desktop I'll have to check to see if maybe I accidentally unzipped it.

I actually didn't have the muscle problem, I just put my sim on the treadmill about three times and she was as slim as they get!
